Business Development Manager (Former Employee) –  Port Moresby18 April 2017
Research and informative market reports of the Food & Beverage

Mining & Petroleum industries in PNG. Learning that PNG has

a lot to more work to be done on policies and regulations

relevant to projects especially in the Mining and Petroleum industry.

Management always supportive and empowering. Workplace culture

was up held at all times and positive cross cultural behaviour was

encouraged as Austrade located world wide. The most hardest part

of the job was not finding a match between a customer (PNG) and

client (Aus) but the most enjoyable was visiting Exhibitions and

organising Trade missions.
Pros
Travel overseas
Cons
Travel allowance

For the most part the people are fantastic however upper management are very focused on their own careers and struggle to manage their teams very well. Offers work life balance but very limited opportunity for career advancement or training.
