The most useful review selected by IndeedI have loved working with Aspect Therapy. It’s the first Speech Pathology role where I know that the management staff really care about my well-being and me as a person. There is so much experience and passion across the team. I love the flexibility and making my own schedule.

Lovely and Supportive team, rewarding work
Speech Pathologist (Current Employee) - Northern Rivers NSW - 26 July 2021
I have worked with Aspect for 2.5 years and absolutely love my job. I am so well supported by a wonderful leadership team and my colleagues are all so kind. We love working together to support individuals with Autism and their families/carers. Aspect is flexible and I love this, I am able to work from home when I'm not on the road seeing clients. The culture at Aspect is very supportive and collaborative and there is a strong focus on wellness. I love the team I am part of and couldn't imagine wanting to work anywhere else.

Great to work with a passionate, progressive and knowledgeable team
Occupational Therapist (Current Employee) - Sydney and Surrounds, NSW - 13 July 2021
My typical day changes based on the variety of roles I have within the company. A day could include direct therapy with clients at home, school or in the community, teletherapy, online or in person team meetings, completing admin at home, cafes or outside if the weather is nice, facilitating group programs or spending a week in rural locations to support outreach clients. Aspect has clear leadership structure with regular clinical support and supervision for your specific discipline. The extensive knowledge across the team is openly shared and I have no hesitation in contacting a number of OT, Speech, Psychology and Behaviour Support Supervisors if I require support. There is also support available for admin or operational related tasks. Aspect strives to provide a high quality services to all participants which can be tiring but is very fulfilling as a therapist. It can be challenging and stressful to work with the ever-changing NDIS funding requirements however this is the nature of working in the disability sector.
Pros
Support and Supervision, variety and flexibility in your role, passion and drive for best practice
Cons
Itinerant therapy can sometime means less in person contact with colleagues

Progressive organisation, highly regarded in the sector
Occupational Therapist (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 12 July 2021
I work in an itinerant therapy role, based at home and travelling to clients in their homes/schools etc. Aspect is part of a large organisation which drives best practice in supporting people with Autism. There are excellent training opportunities, great supervision/mentoring structure and opportunities to work with a team who is passionate about what they do.
Pros
Flexible working hours, work from home, positive culture, training and mentoring, interesting role opportunities, excellent service provider
Cons
Busy workload - as with any NDIS services

Passionate and supportive team!
Speech Pathologist (Current Employee) - South East Sydney - 11 July 2021
Working for Aspect Therapy has really helped me develop my passion for working with individuals on the spectrum, to support their goals and build on their strengths. There are lots of opportunities and innovation happening all the time. The induction process is great and team collaboration is encouraged. You get to work independently but get support when needed. Working in people's homes, schools, in the community, etc. means we get to make a real difference at a functional level and every day looks different (versus having to sit in an office). If you are someone passionate about helping others, enjoy working independently, good at building rapport and are a life long learner this job is for you!
Pros
Great professional development, yearly 2 day conference, technology provided (phone & laptop), innovative ideas welcome
Cons
must be comfortable with traveling between clients and working independently

Senior HR Business Partner (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 8 July 2021
I have previously worked in HR for disability services and found it to be a very challenging experience. I was nervous to return but Aspect has been such a pleasant surprise with an excellent culture where they truly value their employees. The work is fulfilling and challenging, and the measures for work/life balance are great. Highly recommend!
Pros
Flexibility is at the front of everything they do.

Passionate group of people to work with, challenging work
Manager (Current Employee) - Frenchs Forest NSW - 9 June 2021
It is great to work here when everyone is very passionate about the work that we do - it's a nice feeling to have a real sense of purpose in a not-for-profit which is different from corporate. There's a lot of growth and positive change so there's opportunities for working on projects and trying new, more innovative things.
Pros
Passionate people, flexibility, feeling a sense of purpose, making a difference
Cons
The offices aren't the nicest, there's a plan to improve that with a new office though, so hope that happens soon

It’s ok
Communications Officer (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 10 October 2019
Terrible management in parts. Very siloed and no-one really has any idea what’s going on in other parts of the business which would confuse clients. Many people leaving. Some colleagues are extremely apathetic and lazy - you’ll never lose your job here for being lazy so lots of bludgers can enjoy a long career here. Not very good pay. Made some good friends. There are some staff who are innovative, diligent and there with really good motives to do good work.

Poor management, company structure and business strategy resulting in impossible workload
Regional Coordinator (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 30 June 2019
Work 15-25 hours overtime each week (unpaid). Management acknowledge workload issues causing a considerable amount of coordinators to quit in a short time and yet do nothing to help. Roles disappear and are not replaced, plus extra responsibilities and duties are added so continually less people are doing more and more work.
Management don't appear to understand the jobs of those they manage. Coordinators are not consulted in big decisions that affect their day to day tasks resulting in inefficient new procedures implemented, causing further workload issues and frustration.
Pros
The ground level work we do, supporting people with disabilities, is rewarding
Cons
Workload makes it impossible to get everything important done well.

Limited opportunity for career development or informal training. Managers who exert their control over the staff by withholding resources and information.

Great team culture but undervalue staff financially
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 24 May 2018
Aspect is an amazing place to work with amazing managers and teams, however the one thing that everyone always leaves for is the serious underpayment most of their staff receive.
