Ok to work for but too many changes

Indeed Featured review

They are always changing the way you do your job. The PD would change all the time, adding more and more to a busy day. Management only care for themselves and don’t have clue if staff require further direction. Annual bonus is never there for the hard work that is required. Over time is not paid, however they have a system of TOIL. But at most they don’t award.

Pros

Nine

Cons

Too many to list.

Babcock Australia, equals toxic management, dysfunctional company culture but, where no one cares to address this miserable situation.

Beware of working with this organisation. It truly is a toxic environment where managers are in job roles not qualified to be there but, everyone accepts their terrible, and grossly inadequate leadership qualities. Managers cannot do what they don't know, and this is clearly evident with numerous key managers.Helping the primary customer is what kept me going so long, in fact when onsite the primary customer was far more professonal to work with and treated me better than our management did.For the most part, the Babcock Osborne workforce does not trust management and management do not seem to care. Again, they cannot do what they don't know. This toxic work environment has caused far too many kowledgeable professional people to leave, we cannot all be wrong its that simple...

Pros

I left the building permanently so, yaay for that.

Cons

Putting up with toxic leadership for far too long, not paid enough inline with the industry, and the rubbish we have to put up with from fake it to you make it managers.

great place to work

I enjoyed the daily challenges. The work was of a high quality and company structure was good. I enjoyed the technical aspect of the role. Everyone was supportive and willing to help out with questions.

Babcock was a good company to work for with the job being very interesting and self satisfying.

To be required to witness the testing of equipment in both the workshop and naval assets. The review and closeout of documentation. To conduct audits in accordance with an audit schedule. Employees were both professional and supportive of work requirements and the importance of quality and was reflected in good customer feedback. Employees and management understood the importance of getting the work done correctly due to the high risks associated with failure. I had worked with some of the employees in excess of ten years hence a good working relationship had been built.

Pros

Regular sundowners, some good people were there, everyone was always to give a helping hand

Cons

Travel to and from work was long, very early start for work
