Long hours with very little reward

Answered 26 June 2019

Like the user said below this all depends on management. My cluster manager and store manager would not let us take sick leave without feeling terrified of losing our job even if we were extremely unwell. On one instance, I worked a five hour shift despite feeling extremely faint. I struggled to climb up ladders and would have to lean on the counter so I would not faint at many points throughout the shift. Meanwhile, the cluster manager was aware of this and sat out back on her iPad. I ended up being admitted to Hospital for two days that same evening, less than two hours after getting home from shift after I collapsed. Absolutely a disgusting way to treat your employees and shows the lack of proper procedure and hiring technique by the senior management at Betts. Hiring 22 year old girls who are bullies and have zero compassion or common sense is not a way to create good work culture and professionalism.
