BHP has slowly been destroyed from the inside. Getting anything done is next to impossible. So much red tape and pointless process. God help you if you ever have a problem with pays or anything else of that personal nature. Try getting in touch with HR. Seriously ring the HR number to see what BHP has actually become for their own employees. Don't believe the glossy brochures or TV ads, this company has gone from great to an absolute dogs breakfast in the last decade.

Large, well established company based in Melbourne, Australia. Decent pay and benefits. However, only pursue if interested in working for a natural resources company.

Going Down the Hill

BHP has been a good company with procedures and principles. But that has been changing in the last 5 years. The experienced people are leaving and its getting filled up with talkers and not dowers. To get promoted you should be a talker and a woman. Degrees, knowledge and experience. They don't count. The gender balancing campaign have plagued the company. As ratio of men to women in the trade and Technical schools is almost 80 percent. To fill up the positions equally the positions are being filled with the women that never been to technical or trade schools.

Over complicate everything micro manage feels like Ur going backwards they preach a culture of safe to speak up and have your say but you are soon ridiculed and made to feel irrelevant
