BHP OS Goonyella Riverside was a terrible place to work at, Management turnover was high, incompetent Managers and Superintendents.
Field Service Technician (Former Employee) - Moranbah QLD - 29 December 2022
Repair and maintenance of Diggers and Drills. No OEM training whatsoever, except for those who sucked up to management. Managers and Superintendents that didn't know what they were doing. A work culture that wanted you to dob on your work mates, forced everyone to get the Jab. Most enjoyable part of working there, driving out of the gate at the end of your roster and quitting the job.
Pros
If you sucked up to the Manager and superintendent, it made life a little easier
Cons
Poor organisation, Poor planning, waste resources

Hard yakka
All Rounder, trucks, grader, forklift. (Former Employee) - Goonyella Riverside, Moranbah. - 18 September 2019
If you're single, fit, non smoker, social drinker, fit for shift work and have a goal then this is the job for you. In camp accommodation, air-conned, fully catered for almost resort style, bus to and from work, air flights or drive.
The job is demanding even stressful, 12 hr shifts, 7 on 7 off average, requires a strict routine but the pay off is awesome and certainly makes paying off a house a breeze.

Supt Maint Processing & Infrastructure (Current Employee) - Moranbah - 26 March 2017
BHPBilliton is a progressive company where I have had the opportunity to work on a greenfield development giving me exposure to the development of maintenance strategy and initial budget setting. I have been accountable for recruitment and on boarding of the maintenance teams and plant commissioning through to full operations. The site is achieving industry leading performance with a strong culture of continuous improvement

Fleet Systems Technical Officer (Former Employee) - Moranbah QLD - 14 July 2016
BMA gave me the tools and training to make the best of my self, they invested in their people.
Most days offered some kind of challenge in an ever changing progressive environment. Fellow workers were good at what they did and helpful where ever possible.
Most enjoyable part of the job was the diversity and the flexibility to get your project or job done to meet your or the businesses goals.

Safety Security Officer
Mine Safety, Security & Emergency Response Officer (Former Employee) - Moranbah Queensland - 13 April 2014
Mine access / egress control at Goonyella/Riverside Coal Mine.
Oversight of safety compliance on the minesite.
I learnt about mine safety compliance systems and procedures. I was involved in the Emergency Response team on the mine with enable me to participate and learn about Mine Rescue and Emergency response.
Management and I worked collaboratively to implement changes when the Security role was changed to incorporate Security and Emergency Response. I often provided support and advise to the Safety Superintendent whom often referred to my vast experiences and this assisted him to achieve his goals.
Coworkers often complained of the environment and conditions but I continued to maintain a positive ethos in order to achieve both personal and corporate goals.
The hardest part of the job at some times was the requirement to continually update and maintain skills, however I was able to achieve all required.
The most enjoyable part of the work I was working in a dynamic and challenging environment where I was able to continually learn new skills and contribute to corporate goals.
Pros
I worked a great roster and lived within a short distance.
Cons
There were often conflicting priorities amongst coworkers, I preferred a more collaborative workplace.
