Fast paced and full on, fun tho

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
This was my first job so I don’t have too much to say bc I didn’t know any better at the time. But it was very fast paced and there are lots of things to learn. But the manager at the time told me mid shift that I wasn’t needed anymore and that I won’t have to come to my next shifts. (I was a Christmas casual that had a possibility of staying longer). But other than that it wasn’t too bad.

Pros

Free drink after each shift

Cons

Fast pace was very fast

Stressful workplace

Manager often had favourites and would blame you even if you didn't do it. They were also sometimes rude to customers which made me feel uncomfortable. Employees were normally nice, however some would often neglect you if you were younger. Pay was terrible and did not receive any penalty rates. Management took advantage of young workers

Pros

free drinks

Cons

bad management

Low pay, inconsistent shifts (randomly between 3 and 28)

Nice coworkers, Easy job and nice benefits (free drinks). Extremely inconsistent shifts, low pay, asked to cover shifts with little notice

Poor Management

Overall experience was awful, manager was a snobby 22 year old who had no idea what he was doing and bullied the staff. Very competitive between employees if not reaching daily sales targets. Co-workers were amazing however management really needs to improve as turnover was very high and organisation was poor.

Super fun place to work

As a team member (rather than a team leader) I get less shifts in the winter because it's less busy, but the people I work with and the management are all super friendly - and we get discounts within our franchise which is great when there's a cool drink campaign

Pros

Drink discounts, friendly work culture, get to make cool drinks

Cons

Less shifts during less busy periods

Fast paced work with good training

A really fun job but can be a bit stressful at times. Pretty good management and rarely under-staffed.Full online and in-store training is provided and everyone else is always happy to help out. Team mates are really nice and easy to talk to as well.

Pros

Team mates, management

Cons

Stressful at busy times

Fun people to work with, but extremely stressful and fast-paced

Boost juice is a job that very much depends on the management team and how well they handle rosters and store maintenance. I have had both a great and bad experience with management with my time at boost, and it makes a huge difference. The working experience on the other hand is most usually stressful and extremely fast-paced, especially when you first start and know none of the recipes off by heart.Having nice co-workers helps with this, but honestly if you are looking for a first job that will last over half a year or so, then maybe look into working somewhere else.

fun

It was very fun and enjoyable. Friendly staff, and good hours. Very fast-paced and can get busy, with lots of work to do. Pay is good and so is the management

Bad management, low pay, stressful

Pay was horrendous, hard work, managers expect so much and dont respect your time or efforts, yell at you for making yourself a drink. Don't work here unless you want to work in a stressful environment

Pros

nothing

Cons

no free drinks, bad managers

Fast-paced, easy job. Making drinks, serving customers. Bad management, some employees made to feel uncomfortable, sketchy place.

Co-workers enjoyable to work with, management is terrible and don't care about the place. WHS is not up to standard etc. I don't think it should be easy to become a manager because then a workplace isnt run effectively and well.

Good job, bad manager

Boost is great to work for and easy to get a higher position and earn more if you love the job, alot of people don't stay for long as it's alot of work, very fast and stressful. I love the concept around boost but the franchisees need to really think harder about who they are putting on as manager. The manager seems nice at first greeting customers then goes on talking to the staff about what other people have done wrong or how she doesn't like them and it's not nice at all to hear that as a customer or team member especially while people are waiting for their drinks and she is very loud.

Pros

Comfortable

Cons

Manager with no experience

A stressful but supportive workplace

I usually worked alone at my boost store so it could be very stressful at times, but my manager/supervisor was lovely. A great casual job that teaches you skills.

Pros

Coworkers

Cons

Hours always changing

lol dont waste ur time at this place

It was fun at first but my very first day I made 10 drinks in the span of 5 minutes which was so stressful but I guess it was fine.from then on it just got worse and worse the coworkers talk about each other and have this sense of superiority where since they've been at boost longer they look down on u which is so annoying lol. management was horrible had no sense of empathy and only cared about getting u into work and them making profit. they dont like if u speak up on issues and would rather u be submissive and just take the workplace bullying, customer abuse, narcissistic managers and horrible horrible work conditions or they would consider u as "problematic" which is what they classified me as. dont waste ur Time working here my mental health deteriorated so much working here

Pros

$5 boost for staff and $1 for snacks

Cons

mentally exhausting, horrible management and abusive customers

Terrible work place, people always quiting due to bad management and rude staff

It was a very demanding job that resulted with no benefits and underpayment. Breaks were never given correctly (would receive proper amounts of breaks for hours worked). Management is poor and rostering is difficult to read. Would not listen to concerns or give you time off when asked well in advance. Instead give you shifts specifically when you couldn’t work and expect you to be there or take it into responsibility yourself to find someone to cover. Always hiring due to staff quiting regularly. Would not appreciate you or your work and expect more that what’s required. Owner is rude and doesn’t value his employees.

Pros

Nil

Cons

Long hours, No breaks, Underpayment, Rude management, No benefits whatsoever, No discount or free things.

Good experience but not worth the pay

The management will cut your shifts as soon as you are too expensive for them and the organisation isn’t too great. The pay also is pretty dodgy. They never asked me for a TFN and we’re always underpaying me. The boss was also playing favourites with a lot of the staff.Good experience for fast paced work, but not anything else.

good for first job and to get experience

good for first job and to get experience but pay was not worth the stress and anxiety it gave me. The girls i worked with were what made it bearable..

Pros

Fun environment

Cons

Pay Management

Good place to work if you're really interested in hospitality

Unfortunately I personally prefer not to work in hospitality and actually making drinks, so this job just wasn't for me (first job!). Managers were kind of passive aggressive rude but other team members were nice.

fun workplace overall (because of the boosties) but bad management

Managers were rude when I worked there 2019, at that stage I was still very young and it was my first job. Often dreaded working with them.Fun atmosphere and great workers though!Pay was good, and good benefits.

Pros

Boosties, good atmosphere, benefits

Cons

bad management, overworked, understaffed

Fast paced and competitive work environment

Nice environment to work in. However, I don’t like the way my boss handled situations and spoke to employees. The boss usually got the most customer complaints

Fun workplace however horrible managers and pay

I personally loved working at boost juice and getting to know new people in the beginning but the management and store ethics were horrible it ruined the job. The pay is ridiculously bad and you don’t get paid weekend or public holiday rates which is pathetic I think. Wouldn’t recommend working at boost unless you’re desperate

Pros

- making new friends - easy

Cons

- horrible management - bad pay - overwork you
