Casual Sales Assistant - Superdry in Sydney NSW

Good working environment
For my first retail sales job, I really lucked out with Superdry. The people are great to work with, everyone's very friendly and collaborative, the pay is decent. Overall a very good working experience.
Casual Sales Assistant Shoes and Sox in Sydney NSW

Very physically demanding and over demanding.
To look like you know your stuff to the customers you would need to study shoes and their features for a couple of days. Job requires too much effort and customers come in thinking we have like a degree in feet. Other jobs I have worked, are much less demanding than this job. At certain times in the year, especially in January we can work 6 hrs straight non-stop and everything is rush rush rush and rude customers and sometimes we get asked to stay longer than our 8 hr shift on days when the shop is packed from the start of the day till the end of the day. Environment is semi good. But pay should be higher. Minimum pay is not enough for the amount of knowledge and the demand required for this job

Sales Assistant Shoes & sox in High point & Werribee

Racism and management chaos
Unfortunately, in 2019, racism in the workplace is still a very real thing. In this company hiring managers or promotion boards subconsciously overlooking black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, and also you can see the occurrence of overt instances of discrimination and harassment on the office floor, it’s undeniable that there is still a lot of work to be done on this front. While nearly all companies have legally binding antidiscrimination policies set up, and governments have issued directives and legislation to try and eradicate this issue, it’s still worth taking the time to highlight the cases where things have gone – or are going – terribly wrong. With that in mind, make sure you still desire to apply for a job there!
