Not bad
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Caroline Springs VIC - 26 September 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedTeam on the floor are great but we are very short staffed all the time. Management is all about the budget and money but won’t really support the people working on the floor. The actual job is fun though

Great Team, Toxic Management
Team Member (Current Employee) - Clyde North VIC - 28 September 2023
Working with the people on the floor is great. We all bonded how awful management is. There’s certain managers that are great but the rest are toxic. They don’t care how hard you work, the second you make a mistake you’ll be in their black list forever. They say they care about our health and safety but will still make you stand on the register for 8hours with a broken ankle. Pay is good for uni students but don’t expect to have a work life balance because they will guilt trip and gaslight you so much whenever you ask for leave.

Fun and chill workplace
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Chadstone VIC - 20 September 2023
I work on reg or in bsco most of the time, but it’s pretty good, if you need help with anything just ask and someone will come and help, no fuss and make sure to tell someone or ask if you feel like you did something wrong, because then they can fix it for sure.

Fun supportive workplace
Team Member (Current Employee) - Queensland - 20 September 2023
Chance for growth, good team. Highs and lows like any job. You always have the option to learn more about the products, more often then not benefit you outside of work too.

Positive work culture, useless managment
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Victoria - 20 September 2023
I've worked here for almost a year and I'm sick to death of it. I've complained about workplace conditions to management multiple times and nothing has been done about it. You're expected to put up with missing out on breaks, not getting support from leaders when needed, dodgy registers that break, being short staffed often and straight up favoritism of employees. You will get along with 98% of the other workers here but the way it feels, you're seen as a nobody if you don't work in a department. If you work in customer support, you will be verbally abused by customers on a daily basis with little support and no room to grow. I expect to resign very soon if things don't change.
Pros
Friendly co-workers, good pay, staff discount
Cons
Useless management, no support when needed, short staffed

not good
Team Member (Current Employee) - Caroline Springs VIC - 19 September 2023
working for Bunnings has been the most stressed I have ever been. there is no flexibility for university students. I work 4 days a week, while going to uni and studying. management never seen to care about you just care about the dollar. they are unfair, and don't often allow for growth in leadership

It was okay, I enjoyed it more than other jobs but they ended up hiring too many people so they cut me off. it gets boring working there for so long.

Sometimes chaotic sometimes calm
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Stafford QLD - 3 September 2023
Bunnings is by no means a bad place to work at, although i feel like a decade ago it would’ve been a much more sought after job. It feels as though over the past few years they’ve changed their direction for the future, but for the worse.

Do Not Reccomend
Customer Service (Former Employee) - Sale VIC - 27 August 2023
if youre young, dont do it. you will be bashed up by old men 24/7 and the management is absolutely garbage. only care about themselves and keep getting new management every week because its doodoo

New Employees
Cashier/Customer Service (Current Employee) - Bairnsdale VIC - 21 August 2023
It's ok so far, I'm only new but there's a feeling of not knowing anyone... knowing a difference in how the others talk with each other then how they talk to you.... in is lonely for a newbie "the way things work around here" can be very confusing at times... without much explanation at times it does feel like I'm just standing there... I'm too scared to take initiative because I don't wanna do the wrong thing and get IN trouble but sometimes I do take initiative and I get told "don't do that" soo... its hard to say... I haven't even been there for my first pay check either soo.. we'll see

Very easy and simple work but difficult customers sometimes Management not very helpful and usually hard to locate not too bad for school aged people but most of staff are very old and set in their ways

A good stepping stone
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Minchinbury NSW - 10 August 2023
Working for bunnings is really flexible. Management can be a little how you going sometimes as it’s all about your personal relationship with them. This could be a blessing or a curse. Meaning that if your a bad worker but a fun person, management is happy to turn a blind eye which can get to some individuals

Good work team but management are toxic
Retail Team Member (Current Employee) - Victoria - 8 August 2023
Love the team I work with, however, management can be toxic. Very unrealistic expectations. Medium staff turnover. Many people have left due to disagreement with management

Fun job
Team Member (Former Employee) - Gympie QLD - 6 August 2023
A fun supportive place to work Good management, hard but productive days make for a rewarding job. New Eba is giving us a better work life balance if we are able to make a four day week come into play, Workin weekends has never been a problem as penalty rates compensate.
Pros
Great working environment
Cons
None of consequence

Don’t work there not worth it
Department Supervisor (Current Employee) - Regional - 2 August 2023
Toxic workplaces for the leaders, over 60hour workweeks, very nasty people in upper management, worry about the way you look rather than how well you work

its better than lots of basic retail jobs
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Bayswater WA - 1 August 2023
Its better than lots of basic retail jobs. Flexible hrs and can relocate and switch stores instead of finding new job which is nice peace of mind. manager can always be terrible but so is any establishment. can switch roles within the same warehouse due to various different departments and positions.
