Sometimes chaotic sometimes calm
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Stafford QLD - 3 September 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedBunnings is by no means a bad place to work at, although i feel like a decade ago it would’ve been a much more sought after job. It feels as though over the past few years they’ve changed their direction for the future, but for the worse.

Fun and chill workplace
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Chadstone VIC - 20 September 2023
I work on reg or in bsco most of the time, but it’s pretty good, if you need help with anything just ask and someone will come and help, no fuss and make sure to tell someone or ask if you feel like you did something wrong, because then they can fix it for sure.

Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Minchinbury NSW - 10 August 2023
Working for bunnings is really flexible. Management can be a little how you going sometimes as it’s all about your personal relationship with them. This could be a blessing or a curse. Meaning that if your a bad worker but a fun person, management is happy to turn a blind eye which can get to some individuals

Good work team but management are toxic
Retail Team Member (Current Employee) - Victoria - 8 August 2023
Love the team I work with, however, management can be toxic. Very unrealistic expectations. Medium staff turnover. Many people have left due to disagreement with management

its better than lots of basic retail jobs
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - Bayswater WA - 1 August 2023
Its better than lots of basic retail jobs. Flexible hrs and can relocate and switch stores instead of finding new job which is nice peace of mind. manager can always be terrible but so is any establishment. can switch roles within the same warehouse due to various different departments and positions.

Very much a boys club
retail (Former Employee) - Victoria - 26 June 2023
They go on about respect and integrity but don't follow it, leadership have zero care for what actually happens to the team on the floor and hardly ever follow the EBA agreement strongly recommend joining the union if you plan on getting a job in the green box and use them every time you think you've been hard done by because chances are you have, they will just make you belive it's the business requirements.
Pros
Nil
Cons
Everything about the place

Stressful but high pay for casuals
Retail Worker (Current Employee) - Victoria Point QLD - 15 December 2022
Bunnings is a good job fast and always doing something get paid fairly and the managers are productive for the company. But it is hard to get an advancement in bunnings hard to get different training besides the basics and hard to get a good contract as they hire so many casuals and give little shifts. So it’s first in first serve with shifts when they release the available shifts and it creates a toxic environment. But it is a good job flexible
Pros
High pay
Cons
Fake friend environment

Toxic work environment
Retail (Former Employee) - Raceview QLD - 11 September 2022
If you’re looking for a job that you need to fill in a bit of your life while you work things out this is it. But don’t stay to long. Alright discount on in store items but the salary is below average so there’s no benefit to it.

Over worked, micro managed ,limited access to training, poor product knowledge, led by an incompetent leadership team.

Management will dictate your experience.
Retail (Current Employee) - Bellambi NSW - 20 February 2022
Great work environment which is completely up to whether you have a good management team or not. Unfortunately management is often changing and you'll go through periods of bad managers and good ones.

No work life balance, bullying
Retail Staff (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 2 April 2021
The bonuses are nice when you get them, the discounts are great too, the shares they offer to you after working a year on is good, the team is good, the pay could be better, the banked hours are terrible and never work in your favor, the work life balance is abysmal and non existent, management not leadership is what you usually get and lack of integrity to boot, it's a great place to shop but another thing entirely to work in. My advice don't do it and if you do only short term.
Pros
Dress up days, occasional bonuses, shares and all your entitlements
Cons
No work/ life balance and bad culture
