It was okay, I enjoyed it more than other jobs but they ended up hiring too many people so they cut me off. it gets boring working there for so long.

Fun supportive workplace

Chance for growth, good team. Highs and lows like any job. You always have the option to learn more about the products, more often then not benefit you outside of work too.

not good

working for Bunnings has been the most stressed I have ever been. there is no flexibility for university students. I work 4 days a week, while going to uni and studying. management never seen to care about you just care about the dollar. they are unfair, and don't often allow for growth in leadership

Fun job

A fun supportive place to workGood management, hard but productive days make for a rewarding job.New Eba is giving us a better work life balance if we are able to make a four day week come into play, Workin weekends has never been a problem as penalty rates compensate.

Pros

Great working environment

Cons

None of consequence

Over bearing and lack of training

Bunnings is a great work life balance company, however the work side of things is very by ear and Training is very last minute, you are given 1-2 days training then expected to run a department or set of aisles you know nothing about

Fun Stepping Stone

The workplace is fun and fairly simple on most fronts, heavy on PPE but management is average at most. Learned alot of life skills and people-talking skills along the way. The workplace culture was very mundane.

Typical retail employment focusing on driving sales

What is the best part of working at the company?Great team mates and nice customers What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Lazy team mates and rude customersWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Pretty good…but when the budget gets tight everything dries up quickWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy trying to get everything done

The worst place to work ever and would not recommend as a workplace unless you brown nose and conform without opinions of your own.

What is the best part of working at the company?Holiday presents. Every Christmas, Easter etc they give gifts. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Everything. Management is awful in all stores. The pay is terrible. Customers treat you poorly. Management treats you worse. The only way to get anywhere is to kiss major butt. Other team treats you poorly. If they know you will suck up, they will be considerate towards you. There's no family work balance, despite promising that. They simply don't care. They only adhere to safety when higher management comes around. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Toxic. It is the best word to describe it. You have to suck up to get anywhere. The cliques that are formed in every store make working there disgusting and awful. The lack of staff is because people leave in droves due to the awful environment. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Get to work early. Do the same thing day in, day out. Get ignored when you do extra work and help the company gain more profit. Get ignored for giving your free time to the workplace. Get abused by team and customers. Work way too hard for way little pay.

Strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork within Bunnings. Supportive and friendly fellow team members, which contributes to a positive working environment.

Typical Retail, Solid Team

Not a bad place to work, quite busy, the usual you can expect from a retail position. However, solid team, understanding management and one of the best retail jobs i've had. Pay wasn't too bad, you could do much worse. All comes down to your particular department / store, this can vary wildly.

Not bad

Good people, money is good. Lots of different opportunities to move around different areas of store although it can be really repetitive so good job for a few years

Great opportunity as far as retail goes

Honestly a really fun work place. Dealing with angry customers can be tricky though - you learn a lot about customer service and communication skills.

Fun place to work

I spent most shifts working with other team members I went to school with. It was fun and I got paid for it. The managers were relaxed and didn’t ask much of us.

Some coworkers are amazing, workload is overwhelming mentally and physically and managerial support is scarce.

Other than the support of some fellow coworkers who make the job bearable the place is awful if you in the customer service department, given the sheer amount of work that is expected to be achieved alongside the concurrently having to help customers. We are forced to be yes men essentially. However if you keep yourself busy the shift will go by quickly, and other than forgetful (and frankly incompetent) management and the workload it's a bearable place to work.

Poor management

Pros - team are lovely, we’ll grounded and hardworking. - Christmas presents- seems there are quite a few career options, it just depends on who you know. Cons- poor management styles- lack of support from direct managers - encouraged to work as a team but then in trouble when we do help the team- very KPI based. Feels like safety and development are for the figures and the bonus

Space driven

Little to no training! Management are unfair. No work life balance! No support.Made to feel guilty if sick. Bullying from from certain managers. Team members were lovely, all on the same level. Made fun with what we knew.

Disappointing

I found working at Bunnings more about profit than people. Rather than roster the right people on roster the lower paid. More about trying to fill shelves than having experienced people helping answer customer queries. A lot of feedback was similar from customers.

Pros

Fun team members

Cons

Shifts weren’t consistent. Non truths from managers

Amazing team

Love working with great people and helping people find what they need, every day there’s something different to do and customers trust you for the service you give them

Can be fun but also very demanding

While I enjoyed my time at Bunnings I found that it was a very demanding job. Managers never seem to be happy with the amount of work you did and always pushing for more. Never enough staff on in the one department when its busy but still expected to serve customers, have stocked replenished and aisles kept clean and tidy. If you could not get it all done you would be questioned as to what you did through your shift. Pay is good but you didn't get paid any o.t, it was considered bank of hours which you could take time off at a later date. Unfortunately that system never worked in my favour

Terrable Job and its so mentally draining

I have been with bunnings almost 5 years and i am at my last straw with them, they are so understaffed that it makes it difficult to function properly the customers get annoyed with us but it is bunnings not giving each department enough budget, each day is stressful and i would NOT recommend this job…bunnings is all about money and dosnt care about your well being, very long shifts and sometimes you dont even get to take your break. Management is a bunch of morons, and Our Store Manager is the biggest loser ive ever met. WORKING AT BUNNINGS IS DREADFUL
