Working environment is very good. Management is very supportive for all the employees. Pressure work is less. But will complete the work by the target.

Good things: Benefit package, vacation days, certain departments like equipment, cargo readiness or hazardous are chill.

Bad things: Extremely Top heavy (3-5 management positions to 5 people actually doing the work), improvement ideas are not being implemented, extreme micro-management, favoritism to senior reps, not enough people to do the job in the export and import department while being held to the highest standard and being micromanaged the most.

Anyone on the 3rd floor is being held to a completely different standard than any other teams. I moved from the export dept. to another department and it was night and day! So much easier, more relaxed and chill in ANY other department, its ridiculous. Its still top heavy and micro-manage-y though in all departments and not the right people in charge.
Pros
Benefit package, vacation days
Cons
Extremely Top heavy, micro-management, favoritism

No training provided, disorganised and inconsistent atmosphere.
No concern for mental health or well being of staff members, strong lack of empathy for customers within this business.

No job security even for those with permanent contracts.

Management openly talk negatively about staff members within the office.

Company does not value staff resulting in high turnover, opportunity to progress available to select few, dirty offices, disorganised work culture, no training provided, lack of communication, underhanded management tactics.

Systems are slow and unreliable

Emphasis on figures and micro-managing to close customer concerns within the system rather than resolve them, this role consists of quantity over quality.

Several staff members have been bullied out of this company by management.

Do not value staff members, this is a horrible place to work if you wish to progress or have a career within the shipping industry.

Overtime is not available to everyone and only a select few staff members will be presented with the opportunity to progress.

Pay is low when compared with other similar roles within this industry.

Overall avoid this company, would not work here again or recommend.
Pros
Office location, Medicash
Cons
Company does not value staff resulting in high turnover, opportunity to progress available to select few, dirty offices, disorganised work culture, no training provided, lack of communication, underhanded management tactics.

Il faut revoir le plan. De recrutement et de licenciement du personnel, dissocier la vie personnelle et la vie professionnelle.

New cadets from Asia are being offered much less salaries and also those who already got class 3 COC are still sailing as cadets without promotions in the company. Cadets onboard training is changing frequently and they now have to do all the new ones even after they have done the old ones in order to get promoted.

It's one of the few companies where you can advance relatively fast if you can prove yourself.
Your experience may vary, depending on the ships crew and culture.

The salary of €3400 for a 3rd officer on the bridge is decent, but that lvl of salary is mostly favorable for ppl that live in India, China and the Philippines.

The real money comes when you get to the rank of Chief Officer.

P.S.

If you're considering a maritime career I'd advise you to aim for the Engine Room cause the engineers almost always have Sundays off, unlike the deck crew that work every day.

I really enjoyed my time year. Only downsides were the compensation and rigid structure of the work environment. Fast paced and very interesting projects.

Adapting to new types of shipping terms with CMA was different and in the beginning systems was not very watertight . Motivating younger staff and by showing them why shipping is so exciting . Was challenging but interesting working with different types of new shipping terms with French lines . The first two years was fine until new management was changed.
