Cardno Employee Review
Fantastic team
Design Intern (Current Employee) - Canberra ACT - 18 March 2023
Fantastic and friendly team. Very effective to achieve business and project goals. Different leaders train very well and share knowledge smoothly. Now they are growing fast.

Bro-club mentality with low levels of professionalism
Civil Engineer (Former Employee) - South East Queensland - 9 October 2022
When COVID first hit and we were able to work from home, in our first teams meeting the regional manager said "You know, 40 hours is the minimum in your contract, now that you don't have to commute there's an extra couple of hours you can spend logged in that won't actually impact you". You're not rewarded for overtime or helping others. Middle management and seniors provide little to no guidance or training, then will not hesitate to throw you under the bus when things go wrong. If you're a woman looking to start a family, find a different workplace. They have a great parental leave policy, but I saw them make it difficult for women to come back from maternal leave, or in one case a receptionist got pregnant during probation and got let go at the 6 month mark.
Pros
Free snacks, fusball table, working from home capability
Cons
Long hours, sexism, racism, favouritism, lack of training, lack of professionalism

No work-life balance
Engineers (Former Employee) - St Leonards NSW - 8 April 2022
People are being looked as a dollar. No enough salary, no life! Just working working working. Always tight time, always time budget. They do not consider engineer’s fatigue! They win projects with low pricing and then put pressure on engineers to deliver on time and on budget.

Cardno PNG was the most rewarding work experience of my life.
Laboratory Manager - PNG (Former Employee) - Port Moresby - 13 March 2022
Working in Papua New Guinea was a very rewarding experience. Over time I became accustomed to png culture and learned and respected their way of life. Respecting their culture helped to improve my relationship with my employees. I gained a sound knowledge in png pidgin over time which helped minimise the communication break down I found a lot with Expat managers and national staff. My package offered a reasonable salary with a 3/2 week fifo roster. This gave me plenty of time at home and was the best work/family equality I have ever experienced. Work Load was hectic and you were sometimes exposed to very hostile dangerous situations. This was expected working remotely in PNG on occasion. To summarise the Positive attributes of the position far out weighed the negatives. The Cardno PNG Team are a great bunch to work with!
