Social Innovation at CQUniversity

Social innovation is a concept that seeks to find innovative and sustainable solutions to social needs or problems. There are many definitions of the concept but ultimately the philosophy is driven by the simple need to improve lives and create positive change within the world around us. At CQUniversity, social innovation is at the core of our strategic vision and for many years has been entrenched in our core values. CQUniversity strives to empower its staff and students to make a difference, create an impact and influence the world in which we live, for the betterment of society. CQUniversity does not expect every student to become a social entrepreneur, instead our goal is to equip them with skills and knowledge, so that they can realise their potential when it comes to creating change – no matter how big or small this may be. CQUniversity does this through the design of its programs, the delivery of learning and teaching (including online program delivery), work integrated learning opportunities, global study tours, and engagement with industry and community and government – all of which inform our approach to teaching and research.
