Management at VGRS is terrible, the so called 'work/life balance' is almost non-existent as the recent restructure cleared 32% of workers and management now claims there's not enough people in office for anyone to take leave. People told not to leave their office to get a coffee. People denied personal leave and asked to change medical appointments. General manager is sexist.
Very hard to fire people for low performance so the organisation is full of under performing employees.

Constant changes for the sake of changes. Repetitive work with people who are reminded by management to not voice their opinions or suggestions.. Look elsewhere..
Pros
Easy money if you can stay and ignore management.
Cons
Terrible morale, management watches and scrutinizes everything.

Don't spend more than 12 months here if you value your sanity. High turnover, low morale, abusive customers and court users at every turn who demand anything and everything and treat staff and members (judges) with disrespect, management are out of touch with workers and try to pit workers against each other for promotions and other roles.

So many change proposals for the sake of change proposals, and the proposals are there to cull employees and talent rather than add anything to the business.

CSV tend to offer a lot of temp roles/12 month roles, which are great for individuals to gain experience, but are horrible for the business. It takes about four weeks to train someone on the basics in any area of operation, plus ongoing training is needed. This distracts star employees and management from their roles and puts extra pressure on teams. The cycle repeats yearly. Seldom do these temps get offered permanent positions when we really need the extra assistance.

Paper heavy system with unreliable electronic systems that would be outdated by mid 2000s standards.

No rewards for employees who go above and beyond, so most employees don't bother doing exceptional work. Mountains and mountains of paperwork that could be easily automated takes up the bulk of time and workload.

I'm glad I left, and I'd never go back. My fellow staff kept me going when things got tough. If you do get a role here, join the union.
Pros
Staff are lovely and ease the pain, great way to build experience
Cons
You cannot move up in this business or feel secure about your job if you are a temp

Unfortunately this could be a really good place to work if it was ever properly funded and would stop with the continual re-structures

Internal staff surveys have shown that there are a number of significant problems with the CSV culture particularly in addressing bullying issues. This makes it difficult for the individuals to operate in the environment and impedes projects resulting in huge delays and much higher costs..
The staff are excellent to work with and very friendly. Everyone helped where ever they could. Even the 'personalities' who usually came around after a bit of a vent.

Management & leader ship is questionable at best.

I would not recommend working in this environment.
Pros
Good hours
Cons
Difficult envrionment
