Not the worst place to work however not the best either. Team managers had a higher than usual turn over rate, and in house systems had many issues making it hard to do your job. A BIG focus on selling products to customers and KPIs very much revolve around sales. Always had plenty of food days to compensate for the under staffing and system issues during busy periods. Massive letter mail outs which were usually poorly worded resulted in getting unnecessary calls leaving members and staff frustrated. Introducing new products without staff being trained and systems adequately tested for issues and a general lack of support

Credit Union broker support team was a small team with different skill sets and knowledge. Staffs had opportunities to up skill themselves and management was very supportive and understanding. Working there was very rewarding.

The staff and management are wonderful and supportive, always providing great feedback and encouraging self awareness and development
Only downfall was that the only positions available are temporary and does not offer security

Spend so much time talking and focusing on Culture but it is nothing but talk. Head Office believe this is amazing but are oblivious to what goes on in the branches

I would definitely recommend getting a job in another bank/insurance company. As CUA will just be a bad experience for you. The management treat all staff badly and swear at staff members.

Management was however, another story. They were nice to you, but they would say things to other managers to negatively impact your being there.
The workplace was quite a small office here in Melbourne, given their head office was up in Brisbane, but that didn't change the atmosphere or the colleagues

Use to be a wonderful place to work 😪. New HOD so career focused and target driven -resulting in total lack of people skills with no care or compassion whatsoever for staff. Despite the support of co-workers and after a long career there, I’m so relieved to be out and would never return.

This is a Bank that tries very hard to be everything but a bank!!! Staff and customers ultimately suffer.

Management and senior executives are disconnected from the reality of the day to day business. There is constant infighting across departments at a senior level.

The systems and processes are inefficient and dated and although the company is trying to update, they are not getting it right. Projects are very poorly managed and “improvements” generally mean less efficiency, greater cost, and significantly more manual work.

Get your heads out of the clouds! Your staff are suffering due to your bad decisions and unwillingness to listen.

Look after your people.

People makes mistakes, create a safe environment to learn from them to build a stronger organisation! Stop the victimisation and deal with middle management bullies.

I did learn a lot at CUA, completing new documents for loans, attending to settlements, processing loans, training staff in substitutions, attending to administration work, assisting with loan draw downs and checking of documents that were returned in readiness for settlement, being available to assist any staff that needed assistance, answering the phone calls from customers and assisting them to provide a positive outcome for their situation

It was a pleasure and rewarding experience to work for CUA during the core banking replacement program. The team was committed, business was genuinely interested and the program sponsorship was very strong since the CEO personally was involved in the big change.

Ordinary job for an ordinary company. Despite being owned by members, the firm operates to emulate the other banks, resulting in a company that supposedly has a progressive framework to be as consumerist and money driven as any other business out there. KPI's, outside of adherance, is largely money based, resulting in a 'hustling' atmosphere - to the point that employees are known to have stolen sales to get closer to their KPIs.

I would be on hand to support the brokers to help them with regards to information on their files and complete admin related duties to go along side this, I worked in a team of 6 and we would all help each other with work that needed to be done to make sure we could get files to settlement as quick as possible. It was a great place to work and I would daily learn something new and take on new responsibilities

Based on the team you're with, you can either have a great or bad experience. There's still a lot of silos which was being broken down very slowly but there's also a lot of duplication of work happening in divisions. Very young in developing foundations but they show potential

one of the best companies I have ever worked for, supportive of your wellbeing in the workplace. Training could be better, but for a small financial institution they treat their staff very well. I felt valued and part of a team.

Targets are set like its a major bank but you dont get the foot traffic or systems to accomplish them.
Management tell you roles are coming up to advance your career and they never come.

Systems are way behind other banks.

Lots of people leave as expectations are high with little support.

Pay is decent but youll never make a bonus.

I would never work there again.
