Travel (I traveled approx 3hrs a day. one hour on train to and from work and then bus).
Hours are long. 7pm finishes every day. Working hours could be between 5hrs to 9.5hrs. Xmas time there is 10pm-12pm finishes. Working hours could be 10hours (they found a loop hole to not give you anymore break times than you would if you do 10hours which I believe you are entitled to.)
Customers can be unreasonable, entitled and demanding.
Coworkers can either be very kind and helpful, or stuck up and discriminate.
What is the Assistant Sales Manager role like with David Jones.
Is it a fair role or simply an economical way of installing another Sales Mgr?
I always felt that (while not an ASMs myself) they are very busy. They were over worked. Long hours and a lot of pressure to make sure staff are working efficiently as well as picking up any slack from the managers. Whatever managers don't feel like doing, they just dump it on the ASMs. You could get a good manager where the two of you worked together. But the supervisors in my department were always stressed.
