Family and Community Services (FACS) supports vulnerable people and families to participate in social and economic life and build stronger communities. The people at the heart of our work are: children and young people; families; people who are homeless or need help to afford somewhere to live; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; older people; – more... and people with disability, their families and carers.

Our objectives are:

 Children and young people are protected from abuse and neglect

 People with a disability are supported to realise their potential

 Social housing assistance is used to break disadvantage

 People are assisted to participate in social and economic life

 People at risk of, and experiencing, domestic and family violence are safer

 Aboriginal people, families and communities have better outcomes.

I really enjoyed working for DCJ (FACS) If the government had not transferred housing to community housing, i would definitely still be working with them and was really sad to see the team i was working with split.
