Great Place to work! Perks are simply the satisfaction and sense of pride you get knowing you are taking care of the veterans who served great nation.


I enjoyed the public contact, and acting as a liaison between the veterans and transport providers. The position depended entirely upon my communication and analytical/ problem solving skills, which are my two most developed abilities.


The department is shrinking as its customer base literally dies out, so there was no room for any sustained career growth. Almost immediately after my transfer to DHS, the functions of my section at DVA were consolidated in Adelaide (as were those of similar teams in Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne).
