I working with Downer for 32 years
Electrician (Current Employee) - Wollongong NSW - 8 January 2020
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI enjoyed working with Downer for 32 years. I gained valuable experience in the time and made many life long friends.
I was made redundant after 32 years due to the downturn in the industry. I will utilise the knowledge and experience I gained into my future job positions.

Mostly ok some work sites are good
Electrician (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 21 February 2019
Typical rail and construction sites. willing to train and induct workers in areas the downer group are working in. Management are good the only management are the people on site. consistent with standards with the in electrical field. Work with the sites sometimes requires other skills and can be good to with equipment required. Not much mucking around with work all workers are keen to help and aslong as your working the work keeps rolling in.
Pros
good team leaders
Cons
can b hard to get to at time.

Work
Electrician (Former Employee) - Perth/Karratha - 9 February 2016
My everyday work would involve pre start meeting every morning to discuss relevant tasks throughout the day that would have to be carried out or completed.
Im a fast learner and always driven to learn something new.
I can well in a team environment and I'm a very easy person to get along with.
I do thrive on working alone as well, as in some jobs/tasks, too many cooks can spoil the broth.
The hardest part of the job is expecting nothing ever to be "perfect" but to thrive and make the best out any situation and do it the best I possibly can.
The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to develop amazing relationships you do with co-workers and being able to bounce ideas off each other is a key in this industry.
Pros
Support myself and my family
Cons
Hot weather

Electrician Grade 5 QA + Commissioning (Former Employee) - Newcastle, NSW - 13 February 2014
The day would begin with our pre start meeting and then get our tasks for the day.
I learnt from skilled Supervisors who did not hesitate to assist.
Management were motivated in job completion but NOT at the expense of safety for there employees.
Thoroughly enjoyed working with my workmates whom I am still in contact with after 9 years.
Hardest part of the job would have to be leaving Downer as no work was on offer at the time of project completion.
Forming friendships.
Pros
Good mates
Cons
Leaving Downer
