Great place to work
Shop Manager (Current Employee) - Fakenham - 20 October 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedLovely, supportive area manager. Always someone around to give advice when you need it. Hardest part of the job is when you are on your own having to serve, sort donations and do all the in between bits when you don't have any volunteers in. If you are organised you can typically get ahead of yourself and work around the lack of volunteers though. The best part is my volunteers, they are great to work with! And of course knowing you are helping raise funds for a very important cause. All in all its a good place to work if you are not afraid of hard work and all for a good cause.
Pros
9 to 5
Cons
Periods of lone working

Friendly and supportive
Volunteer Shop Assistant (Current Employee) - Norfolk - 12 June 2023
Very supportive staff, especially when starting out. Given lots to do, but all manageable. Overall lovely environment to work in. I recommend for anyone wanting to volunteer.

Fun but can be stressful
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Norfolk - 23 March 2023
The job is fun as you are constantly meeting new people but is also stressful as there is a lot of responsibility placed on you. The job involves a variety of different tasks to be completed so everyday is different but you will be asked to work alone in some circumstances which for me turned out to be a lot of time, which I personally wasn't comfortable with. Great company to work for

Awful place to work
Care Manager (Former Employee) - Cambridgeshire - 5 March 2023
I can’t say anything good about working at EACH. The senior management are awful and don’t support staff. EACH make staff lie on staff surveys otherwise that department will be victimised
Pros
Free car parking
Cons
Nasty environment to work

Loved working with the volunteers, pity about higher management
Deputy Manager (Former Employee) - Whittlesey - 16 December 2022
Worked a long time with EACH, they are not interested in you progressing, they are only interested in the money you make and if you can cover other shops. Managers are leaving left, right and centre. I left and they couldn't have been less bothered, no thank you, no sorry you're leaving - nothing. Volunteers are amazing though, they made the job bearable.
Pros
Volunteers
Cons
Long hours, no thank yous, expecting more and more.

Lovely charity.
Retail Sales Assistant (Part-time) (Former Employee) - Norfolk - 25 October 2022
A superb charity supporting terminally ill children and their families. The work culture is fast paced but rewarding knowing what you are doing is ultimately for an excellent cause. Volunteers are the best bit as they are such lovely people giving up free time to help.
Pros
Friendly environment with the volunteers and can take a break when needed.
Cons
Lifting heavy donations, lack of support from line manager.

Fun
Volunteer (Former Employee) - Cherry Hinton - 25 September 2022
I volunteered at an EACH shop for 3 months with a friend and I can say that it was a very pleasant place to be. The manager of my particular shop was extremely nice, and helped me learn some skills in retail. Pretty nice considering I had none to start with.

Fun and Worthwhile
Volunteer (Former Employee) - Norwich, Norfolk - 27 March 2022
This volunteer role was my first job. It was an opportunity to complete my bronze DofE award, as well as gain experience to put on a CV. The managers were very helpful at helping me progress both within my role and as a person. Though unpaid, there were several benefits to the role.

Upper management. (Area manager and above)
Volunteer (Former Employee) - Suffolk - 1 August 2021
Shops need investment to perform properly and also need a complete shake up from the area management upwards as no support for managers who are often ignored, equipment and problems need addressing. Shop managers, assistants and volunteers are positive given the circumstances.
Pros
Good staff and volunteers in shops
Cons
No support from area management and upwards.

Loved my time here, lost my job through an accident at work 😔 being the main housekeeper at the time I was pretty much left to it and I just got on with my job and I took great pride in my work.

Relaxed and helpful
Paid Fundraiser (Current Employee) - Norwich - 27 December 2019
Your day is between 10am -8pm, its your choice when you work, however as this is a door knocking job, the later end of the day is the time that you will find most people in from work.

EACH is awesome!
Sales assistant (Current Employee) - Stowmarket, Suffolk - 11 July 2017
Each is a voluntary position but it teaches you confidence, cash handling, time management, respect for others, building friendships, responsibility and much much more. If you haven't worked for a while. Volunteering is an excellent way to get back in to things.
