How do you get blood out of a stone? Some times it appeared to be this difficult to get things done. Management has seen significant change and culture has suffered due to this.
Pros
Annual Bonus program
Cons
Long hours

Working as a casual on a semi regular basis has been quite good for the wallet. The only drawback is the long hours and sometimes lack of consistency. One moment is busy as and the next you are scratching ya butt. That said, the coin is definately worth it.

EA is a fabulous place to work with a huge variety of projects to deliver from Regulatory, Business and technology streams. Opportunities to understand the utilities sector definately exist.

I joined for a newly created role- 8 months later my two mangers left, the company announced a loss and over 200 positions were made redundant- including mine just before Christmas.
This company is going through crisis management with lots of people protecting their backsides.

Not a great place with many worried about their future as more will go.

Working in the power industry is not for everyone , its loud, dangerous and dirty. there are a lot of dark places and security is very high. to get work in the power industry you need flexibility.

Great people and a supportive environment to begin with, training was spot on and EA continued to invest greatly in the training side of things during my time there. We all remained in the one team after our initial training was completed and had a supportive and knowledgeable team manager, upon completion of the second part of our training approx 4 months later the team was divided and then things got real, the job was no longer about resolving issues but more about hand balling them along and hoping the customer would go away. The systems used were clunky and not user friendly, and prone to freezing and very cumbersome to use. Team members were great though and support readily available when required. The tier two team managers had no industry experience like our initial tier 1 team manager had so she remained the go to person for most. Would recommend EA to others as the good outweigh the bad.
Pros
Great People, Training, Food Days
Cons
Systems, High Bills, Lacking ownership of issues

Not alot in the way of training. Orders are barked down from above and we never were looked into as a company by anyone above us in terms of management or potential promotions.

The organisation views itself as incredibly forward thinking and in some ways it is.
The reality is that the place runs like a bag of cats. Crazy, all over the place and no plan.

The salary is great and so is the companies view of w/l balance and gender equality.
Pros
Work/Life Balance
Cons
No plan

If you like feeling like you're in a modern-day sweatshop answering phones, being abused by customers, being under trained for the job and following protocol so closely you get penalized for trying to help a customer and not transfer them, this is the job for you.
Got kids and need flexible rostering? Hahah nope.

Use public transport and don't want to be penalised because the train is delayed? Look elsewhere.

They actually monitor staff activity so closely they can run a report of how many toilet breaks you take outside of your breaks, and they will bring it up at your reviews.

Management spend more time on coffee breaks or smokok than on the floor helping staff, openly bully staff for not meeting KPIs that are set unrealistically high or being sick and unable to come to work.

I legit had my manager demanding I supply med certs while in hospital on the day.

If your choices were staying on centerlink or EA, stay on centerlink over working at this place.
Pros
It's employment, casual attire, no weekends
Cons
Literally everything else

Overall satisfied. But some management decision is slow at times. Good learning experience. Great support from peers and seniors. Some It systems are slow and old, management not getting rid of them.
Pros
Excellent location, fun culture
Cons
long hours

Pros: Salary is reasonable, Workload reasonable, KPI's a stretch (but reachable, if you work hard). Table Tennis Table in the work place, Healthy food provided early days of the week.

Cons: Immediate management, disconnect with frontline management & upper management/HR, the "fun workplace culture" slowly being lost, severely understaffed in certain divisions (because not enough priority was put on retaining knowledgeable staff)
