I was employed at Estia for 15 months as a casual whilst studying my Diploma of Nursing. As I was on placement we changed managers. After my placement I was unwell so in this time COVID testing had to be done I informed my manager. It ended up being a chest infection. I picked up a couple of shifts which I had to cancel due to this. I then picked up a shift for a day that I had school and rang that I made a mistake . Two days later I received an email from payroll saying they are sorry to hear I'm leaving . I never resigned, I never was spoken to by the manager or received any corespondince from this company . So I pretty much got tiered without a reason or any contact by the manager. Definetly will never work for this company again .

The most enjoyable thing about working here

The most enjoyable thing about working here was the connection that i built with both staff and residents. The things that i learnt from both my fellow staff and from the residents made me enjoy working here

It's hard being a casual staff member

As I am a casual staff member I don't get many hours. The hardest part of the job is remembering how to do it for me because as I am casual I don't do it that often and by the time I come back I have to refresh my memory. My co-workers are great not a problem with them! The most thing I love about the job is chatting to the residents if I have the time. The management have just changed hands so a lot of changes going on.
