    How to make working in paradise an ordeal
    The job is not bad, long hours, but in a magical place. However the managers are truly terrible. Ranging from incompetent to inappropriate, the less you have to do with anyone in a dark blue shirt the better. If you work at it, you can however complete taskbooks for a skippers' ticket. You will also gain experience taking control of the vessel during mooring and docking if you show interest and proficiency.

    Worked at fitzroy for over a year
    The only good thing about fitzroy island are the other staff members. These people are generally kind, entertaining and funny. They become your family and everyone looks out for one another. There is a fun party culture both during and after work amongst the casual staff. The management is shocking and pretty much every head of department should be replaced. Every now and then management will randomly fire someone for a ridiculous reason and make them leave their home with no notice. The staff food is varying degrees of terrible and the accommodation is pretty shocking too. The house I lived in had holes in the floors, walls, and ceiling allowing a range of animals into your room every day. Maintenance is very rarely carried out and if it is generally a band-aid fix. If you are extremely easy going and don't mind living in a hovel with terrible food, fitzroy island is for you

    Was 2nd time working in Fitzroy island so I have a long history and liking for working there.
    Fitzroy island like most island has its logistical problems with getting produce and stock to the island but apart from this isolated location and remote settings I have a thing for

    シフトは8-17,14-22-17-22の三つでしたが、なぜか私だけが固定の17-22時。しかも7月は急がしく、私が週2回で14時間働くというシフトにハイってキッチンを支えたにもかかわらず、私の給料と労働時間の長さがネックになり固定になりました。同僚のOZは仕事のスピード、完成度に差がありすぎてイライラしました。    先ずは各々の仕事範囲を確認した上で進めていかないとOZは日本人だから仕事ができるし、早いからやってくれと要求が後を絶ちません。仕事の量の均等化を計るようコミュニケーションを先ずとってから仕事に取り掛かることが重要ということを教わりました。自己主張できるだけの英語力は必要です。  同僚は怠惰かついいわけが多く時給が同じで仕事量が私のほうが多いというのは不公平です。これをずっとアピールしてきましたが受け入れられるどころか、「お前がカバーしてやれ」といわれる始末でした。首を縦には振りませんでした。  大変なのは祝日やスクールホリデーのときの忙しさです。皿を次々に洗って出さなければいけないので、かつ怠惰な同僚のカバーもしなければなりません。  英語を使う環境なので自分が勉強したぶん相手からも距離をつめてきてくれるということが実感できることでしょうか。
