Worst year of my life
Travel Consultant (Former Employee) –  Perth WA29 August 2019
If you like being stressed, barely sleeping and making next to no money (company takes most of it) then go for it.
Only positives was I had a great team Leader and an amazing trainer but that only goes so far when the company itself is a dump

The pay isn't that great, you get what you give.
The environment is amazing and so is selling travel.

My co-workers and bosses are amazing and they really do make the job fun, it's a great place to work, it's just the pay that is the downfall.

Assistant Manager (2IC) (Current Employee) –  Miranda NSW2 August 2016
The company has provided me with an interesting insight into the Travel Industry. They have provided me with industry experience an the relevant qualificatons.
The hardest part of the job is the monthly targets, and attempting to exceed them, but the most enjoyable part of the job is working with like minded people and the challenge of meeting someone's expectations.

Pushed to mark up to the point where is it uncomfortable.
Travel Consultant (Former Employee) –  Queensland6 June 2016
The brutal recruitment/training process forces to you eat sleep breathe Flight Centre.

It builds the job up to be something amazing. Instead, unless you are cutthroat and take advantage of clients trust, you make peanuts.

This job has it moments. They party very very hard at all the staff events.

However unless know what you are getting into, it can be very rough.
It almost financially crippled me. When you start your salary is laughable, and it eats into your savings.

In my 10 months there. 5 people quit and 6 were hired.
Pros
Good staff events
Cons
Horrible work life balance, miserable pay. Huge stress and pressure.

Travel Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  Cottesloe WA23 May 2016
flight centre provided excellent training regarding branding, sales and travel products. the role requires a minimum of 50 hours a week to keep up with training, enquiry and company commitments. my colleagues were great, knowledgeable and helpful. the base salary was a turn off of 31,500 plus commission which was a challenging figure to budget for. i love travel and this was certainly a great experience.
Pros
training, incentives, recognition
Cons
low salary, lack of career progression
