Busy place and standard F&B environment
Food Runner (Former Employee) - Queensland - 26 September 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGets extremely hectic during peak hours. Management can be a little pushy sometimes, and shifts get cancelled last minute. Located in a rich suburb so rude and entitled customers are the worst part of the job. Great coworkers keep it bearable.

Demanding and competitive
Bartender (Current Employee) - Coolangatta QLD - 15 December 2022
The enviroment is tense, demanding, as a bartender, everybody waiters and managers are always saying to you what you have to so and how you have to make things, but the way they say it feels like they just pretend to be over you, because each one says different thinks as they have the truth. You feel like you have to do super perfect the drinks with the objective that the waiter receive the bill, they put pressure on you, and they keep the bills, they don't share with the rest of the team (bartender, kitchen, Runners) Also, to make 8 hours daily, you have to be all day at work, they make you take to hours break in the middle of you shifts . They pay same rate as other hospitality jobs, the demanding and the high standar they prerend is not reflexed in the salary
Pros
Nothing
Cons
All day at work, enviroment, pressure, demanding

Waitstaff
Waitress (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 3 April 2022
The worst place to work at. Management is rude and shouting at employees. Shifts get cancelled 1 hour before work and they sometime doesn't even inform if your shift is cancelled, you turn up to work and send back home. That's horrible!! You are asked to be provided with 40 hours per week and they hardly give 10hours and sending you home with just 1 hour of work. They don't even train you with job and put you on servicing floor with 7 to 8 tables at a time, scream and yell at you in front of everyone for not multitasking. Co workers are always back talk and unpleasant to work with. You should be treated well and valued as human being. But this place is horrible who treat you like inhuman. So unprofessional!!

Toxic work environment and poor management.
Front of House Staff (Former Employee) - Sanctuary Cove QLD - 6 September 2021
The workplace is toxic and depressing. The management is unorganised, unfair and unreliable, cancelling shifts 1hr beforehand and getting sent home early. Managers bully staff to the point of quitting. Most of the staff are rude, negative and unwelcoming. The turnover rate is so fast that they are constantly struggling to maintain staff. Horrible experience.
Pros
Half priced food.
Cons
Very poor management and toxic environment.

The worst place I have ever worked at.
Waiter (Former Employee) - Sanctuary Cove QLD - 24 July 2021
Easier to put in point form. - The worst management (Rude, disorganised) - Poor training with high expectations - Very, very busy sections - You are not appreciated - You are spoken down to - Split shifts, very little hours. (For casuals) - Full timers work stupid hours. (Salary no p/h $) - Hard time taking leave/holidays - You get shifts canceled at the very last minute Overall it was easily the worst job I’ve ever had, there was so much gossip between staff, they expect the world from you and belittle you, management think they’re on high horses, I honestly don’t know how this place still functions. The staff turnover is absolutely nuts. You’ll need multiple new faces every other week. People quit after their first week.
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours, poor management, toxic work environment

Don't even bother.
Waiter (Former Employee) - Sanctuary Cove QLD - 31 May 2021
You show up, they are so unorganised it astounds me that they're still up and running. They'll tell you to come in for a shift then when you arrive they tell you to go home immediately. Their management is disgustingly rude and they can't be bothered even seeing you. When I had my interview I had to wait 3 HOURS straight for management to come and question me as they apparently weren't expecting me when they organised the time and date and then 3 HOURS go by and they say they can't interview me because they're busy right now and they told me to go home and come back later. Truly disgusting. Management is cruel and unrorganised. They don't care about you. There's a reason why they're CONSTANTLY hiring and never seem to find anyone. Do not waste your time.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything.

Its a lot
Waitress (Former Employee) - Hope Island QLD - 10 February 2020
Had 4 training shifts before they left me by myself with a full section on the weekend with no one to ask questions about the menu (food/wine). Only a few staff were nice enough to help me if its busy. Also no flexibility with time off or ur shifts. Cannot request time off at all. Its ur responsibly to swap every shift if ur going away. Also regularly(!) cancelled shifts an hr before starting...

Not the best place to work.
Waitress (Former Employee) - Hope Island QLD - 18 December 2016
A Day at Georges Paragon is not fun at all.
staff are real rude, judgmental, unfair and all up unfriendly.
After working for 3 months I put everything into the job, working my hardest and always having a happy attitude and doing other staff members jobs without any recognition.
Management are not friendly at all. You will wake up in the morning to get ready for work instead get a phone call at 9 am calling you off.
this happened to me nearly every day! and other staff had same treatment, Management says the shop isn't so busy.
Most Days you will do split shifts, each shift you will make 2 hours worth, all up you will be making 4 hours a day for a full week about 15 hr max.
I was not happy at all with this job and advise anyone who is looking, be warned it is not the best workplace.
Pros
none
Cons
short hours, unfair management, unhappy staff....
