Very friendly people who are always willing to help. Good workplace culture at St. Ives. Beautiful site, driving in and out on the causeway through Lake Lefroy!

Smoke & Mirrors
Paramedic (Former Employee) - Kambalda WA - 23 August 2019
All show, no substance. No interest in change, too many ego’s and not enough will to be innovative or challenging. Nothing but lip service and an impotent management system only interested in keeping their mates happy instead of having the fortitude to excise dead weight.

Professionally challenging but rewarding organization to work for
Project Geologist - Queensland Projects (Former Employee) - Queensland, Australia - 4 May 2017
Gold Fields had provided technological advances in mineral exploration techniques. Geologists were provided with GIS and other related geological software training (ArcGIS, Leapfrog, ioGas). The company had also sent me to training in Australia after which was given exploration assignment in various exploration projects (South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland).
There was active interaction between corporate experts in various fields (health and safety, CSR, legal, finance, geochemistry, geophysics, resource modelling, and project management) in order to ensure efficient flow of exploration initiatives.
Pros
Training, seminars and provision of software packages to company laptops.
Cons
Volatile organizational structure

challenging assignment.
Laboratory Manager (Former Employee) - Kambalda WA - 7 April 2016
Was a somewhat difficult work culture to change as no laboratory manager was available for six months prior to my arrival and work conditions and morale had deteriorated somewhat.
I took up the position to help out, traveling the 52 kms each way each day and being on 24 hr call out but, eventually had to return to running the delicatessan of which I was a senior partner.

small knit crews
Underground Truck Operator (Former Employee) - Kambalda WA - 10 January 2016
cultivated way of life and work good base around safety not a huge mine and contractors and workers get along. typical day is muster room meeting and in detail work schedule, I learned many things about people. co workers were tight knit. hardest part of the job was stopping for lunch. most enjoyable part of the job was driving.

productive and fun place to work
workshop technician, team leader. (Current Employee) - Western Australia - 27 October 2015
a typical day on a mine site involves extreme conditions. working in remote areas in western australia is tough. I've learnt a lot about underground mining in the past 9 years in the industry. management onsite are very fair and good at running the mine. I work with a great bunch of people, moral is very high. hardest part is working in the heat. most enjoyable is the time off from work.
