staff at goodstart fernvale are rude / mean one person can do something the next cant not a nice place to work very demanding everything needs to rushed staff blame each other when something goes wrong refuse to except that they have done wrong but instead blame it on someone else the environment is not a happy place

Stress isn't worth the good times

The environment is extremely stressful as they operate under the roof and so you're constantly out of ratio and overwhelmed. at the start of the pandemic when we had only essential workers children it was fine but jobkeeper meant that our workers stayed home on the couch and got paid. Once all children were allowed back ratios weren't adhered to and the job sucked

Both a fun and challenging place to work

In some ways a typical day at work was predictable as there were routines with the children. However, having said that there were also surprises everyday for different reasons. The management was great. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed interacting with the children. The hardest part of the job was when there was a behavioural challenge.

productive and fun workplace

Goodstart early learning centre is a great centre, the staff are polite and show you everything that was required. the most enjoyable part of the job was when I got to see the children and help the staff/children with there day to day activities. this work placement helped me gain confidence and some customer service through talking to the parents, staff and the employer.

wonderfull child care

I have worked in this job for many years and whilst I do still enjoy working and learning along side the children I also find it challenging I am extremely lucky to know and work with some of the most caring and genie people you would ever meet

good place for learning and working

really happy to work in this company. atmosphere is very good. very good place for learning new things and working. i learned lot of things like how to work in as a team member. they manage things very well. most enjoyable part of the job is when you interact with children

watching children develop by learn and play

A day at goodstart most of it was enjoyable you watch children grow so much in a short amount of time. I learned there is a lot of paperwork requided in childcare. I wasnt big on the management at goodstart in my opinon they didnt really want to hear how we felt as assistance. the hardest part about working in childcare is you get so attached to the children then they grow up and go to school. worst part about goodstart was the paperwork and how not all of the time did the director want to know your thoughts or opinons.

Great company

Great place to work but hard to get a ppt position i have been with the company for almost 3 years and am still a casual would like to be permanent but also love The freedom of being able to move anywhere in the country and still have a job :) i have recently from a town with two goodstart centres to a town with five centres and have not had 1 week without work and am booked in for work for the Next 2-3 weeks!!

Loved this Job

I really enjoyed working here i was covering a maternity leave that has put me back to casual. A typical day is cleaning, Doing breaks& Greeting Parents. I have learnt so much here mainly to take my time and to ask for help when I need it. Co-worker are lovely very muticultured which is the best. Hardest part of the Job is When your under staffed Most enjoyable part is the children all so unquie and lovely.

Fun and rewarding job

The day is busy but in a fun way.I've learned a few things about different childrens cultures and learned just how quick children get their individuality.The management are supportive and consistant.I work in different centres and most of the people I work with are very helpful and friendly.The hardest part of the job is to not get involved with children who have parents that are going through troubled times.The whole children environment makes it a fun place to be and its lovely when you walk into a room and the children remember you and hold their arms up for a cuddle.

Great place to work

As lunch float, the role involves short periods of time in several rooms to cover correct ratio of children to carers. The most enjoyable part of the role is the children.
