Management was not the best

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I enjoyed working here ut felt as if the managment was the best fit and didn't have the skills and knowledge to be in their role. Other than that it was a good plaace to work.

Good but not always even

Management could definitely be more part of the team but their communication is very good. There is favoritisim that needs to be addressed at times. These problems are minor as I have enjoyed my time there

Great place to work

Shift start times vary and are negotiable during the interview process. The job can get a little repetitive but it’s extremely easy. Mornings are fast paced, afternoons are slow.

Pros

Lunch & learns, great benefits, flexible hours

Cons

left alone most of the day, but if you don’t mind that there really aren’t any cons

Toxic & unfair to regular employees

This company only appreciates management & nurses doctors and not the regular employees who actually do amazing work for the betterment of this hospital and who are just as vital to the everyday functioning of the hospital they are overlooked and underpaid !!

Save your career and avoid ever signing on

What is the best part of working at the company?Working for a physician that cared about his patients and not numbers. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? No support from administration, continuously short staffed, managers have no medical background and make decisions that adversely affect patient care. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Stressful, burned out employees. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Patient priority and safety regardless of lack of staff. Not enough staff to take incoming calls.

Bad management

Not a good work environment. I did not enjoy working here as management was fake and unfair. Load you with work and gets made when you are a little behind.

short staff

Short staff but work gets easy if you are working with colleagues who are not lazy. Most of the time they only see your mistakes but does not appreciate your hardwork.

Excellent teamwork

Worked for HCA Cypress for a little over 1 yr. I currently work in the PACU. There is great teamwork and flexibility. Department t managers work well with staff.

good

Large company, Pay is fair, metrics is fair, no pressure from upper management in regard to patient care. Over all its good, no red flags,. Infection control can be annoying but thats to be expected

ED nurse

It is a good place to start off. The management has improved. You have the opportunity to learn a lot. No patient transporters in the ED, which is the only thing I didn't like as I had to leave other critical patients to take patients up myself.

Patient access

I loved the People I worked with. But management and pay not so great. Supervisor wasn’t bad but higher ups is a no. But staff was great to work with.

Short staffed all the time

We are not 1:2 nurse to patient ratio, we are always tripled. Pay is not the greatest to compensation is low compared to other hospitals in the area.

One of the best places I have worked at. I was treated like an individual and well taken care of. Had to leave due to pay and advancing my career. Great place to start

Boring, skills not utilized, clickish and unprofessional

What is the best part of working at the company? My time at HCA was short and not so sweet. I was fillng in for an assistant on sick leave. Most boring job ever. Also, I do not entertain the act of gossiping, however, the assistant gossiped incessantly about the lady out on sick leave!! This was on a daily basis! So happy once I got out of that place. Person I worked for was not the lady she represented at my interview. Very rude, barely spoke to me. Would recommend you run not walk away from this place!!!What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Trying to avoid the gossip! I only had experience with the one person and that was almost more than I could take. From my perspective, the company does not screen perspective employees very well. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I have worked in long term positions all over the country and, in comparison, the work environment at HCA is not a professional environment. The culture is questionable. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Sit at my desk 90% of the time with nothing to do. Other times I would make travel reservations and manage calendars. I felt I was not utilized.

Nice schedule and nice workloads

Nice schedule and nice workloads. But awful work environment also for every weekend you miss you have to make it up by working the following weekend…

Dedicated staff

Dedicated staff and rewarding. Working in hospice is a calling. Patients and families are greatly appreciated and honored. Would recommend trying if interested.

Good starting point

Good starting point for nurses. StaRN program gives you a good base, and I have met good co-workers overall. Very supportive and lots of learning opportunities
