Good job, unskilled leaders
Roster Coordinator (Former Employee) - NSW - 17 September 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe job itself is very rewarding albeit stressful at times. Build good relationships with clients and co-workers over time. Sadly the lack of management skills, communication, and empathy with supervisors and HR makes the role difficult to unbearable for the long haul. A lot of nepotism and cronyism within the office.

Good company, but management needs to get involved in the scheduling and caring for their staff to see that their time is managed properly
Personal Care Worker (Former Employee) - Victoria - 16 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good training is provided regularly What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Work environment and culture is not too bad What is a typical day like for you at the company? Most of the time you are driving

Great Care/Team/Area Managers, terrible upper management.
Community Care Worker (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 29 August 2023
The managers I worked under were fantastic and always willing to help. Scheduling were a different matter, often not enough time between clients, some breaks had to be taken while driving. Often get called on days off to cover shifts. Some schedulers were rude and/or intimidating. Head office are a nightmare and have no idea how to treat their employees with compassion. Hardly any recognition given for the people who work the hardest. Company went downhill after CEO change. The best part about the job were the clients.

Stressful workplace with little support
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Cardiff NSW - 24 May 2023
The place needs a good scrub, it's pretty dirty looking. Staff dont have enough equipment to do the cooking for meals and things are usually broken. Management like to say they care and listen, but the bottom line is that the place is a business and they cut costs.
Pros
Making friends and getting to know the residents
Cons
No support and sad conditions. Staff are treated pretty bad

Care Worker (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 14 May 2023
HammondCare as a whole isn't a great place to work. Bullying from managers. Pay was below par. Problems galore during COVID. The best and only part is the clients.

Disappointing to work for
Care Worker (Former Employee) - Central Coast NSW - 25 March 2023
I tried numerous times to talk to management about concerns and issues, they fell on deaf ears and just gave me the run around, almost like it was a recorded message that responded. They know how to shut you down. Very disappointing. Extremely low pay for what we have to go through and you can never get any kind of consistency with the hours you work.
Pros
Nice clients mostly
Cons
Poor management, unheard, underpaid

Workload and expectations unrealistic
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Scone NSW - 25 January 2023
Very experienced worked hard but one RN per shift for 68 residents unmanageable. Current management at time unrealistic no positive feedback I think management were threatened by me. Residents and families loved my care and attention but omg just too much! I lasted 4.5 years how I don’t know. Never got any positive feedback or thanks.

It’s good
Carer (Current Employee) - Illawarra NSW - 9 November 2022
Pays not the best but that’s just aged care. It really does feel like a home though. Some staff are horribly mean but I guess that’s just their own personalities.

Home environment but less pay
Special Dementia carer (Current Employee) - Erina NSW - 9 October 2022
Hammond care is very person centred aged care to work n I feel like working at home helping and supporting my family. Management are very supportive and respectful but because of growing expenses pay should be raised more.

Hammond no carr
Specialised Dementia Carer (Former Employee) - Woy Woy NSW - 12 August 2022
Staff are untrained, management don’t care about the staff on the floor! It’s all about making a profit, residents are left sitting in wet/soiled pull-up’s, residents have been found with maggots in their wounds, too many staff have no empathy!

Community care worker (Former Employee) - Inner West NSW - 22 July 2022
all great for a.few years then became a glorified house keeper. The clients were the best thing about the job it was them that I stayed for as long as I did.
Cons
Training done on computer . job impeded on private life. Not all learning is achievable on computer.

Awful; stay away
SDC (Current Employee) - Cardiff NSW - 28 May 2022
Worked for this company for over 12 months. And it got significantly worse over time. Between the poor management. Useless staff and a manager that doesn’t care. Between the RNs who don’t know how to do their jobs. The unfair pay considering you do 4 different positions there and the fact they cap double shifts at 10 hours even though you work 16 is just pure unfair. I worked over the last public holidays. Was owed 21 hours public holiday rates and was paid only 10. Was due for 2 or 3 pay rises and never got them. Honestly just stay away. There’s no training what So ever when you start and are quick to throw you under the bus when you make a mistake.

Support Worker (Former Employee) - Nowra NSW - 18 February 2022
Management make you feel bad if you can’t do a shift They overload you with to many shifts, no breaks in between so constantly rushing to and from Cilents Some Cilents are really rude and ungrateful No notice if they change your roster/shift They favour certain staff over others Wouldn’t work here again May as well been a cleaner
