Good place to work but...
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Sterling, VA - 15 May 2019
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedHD Supply was a good place to work for the most part. They have good benefits. The work was challenging.
They have increasing time off depending how long that you work for them. The down side is they are reorganizing and people are getting laid off.

Not a bad place to work
Field Sales Representative (Current Employee) - Dallas, TX - 23 May 2022
As a field rep for HD supply, they give you all the tools you need to be successful. Management is very helpful and encouraging and the work balance is just right. They do their best to not bother you on your vacation days or days off but as a sales rep, you do what you need to.
Pros
Good work/life balance
Cons
Long days behind the windshield

No room for advancement
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) - Utah - 18 May 2022
Management does little to nothing to help you grow and continuing to learn. Most of everything you will need to learn on your Owen. Pay is not competitive.

Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Phoenix, AZ - 14 May 2022
Worst company to work for . Employees aren’t appreciated and you will turn old by the time you can get a $5 raise . Hours are good , you can get decent overtime but pay is a joke now a days for a delivery driver.

Decent work - awful management
Account Services (Former Employee) - New Braunfels, TX - 13 May 2022
My department was just awful, they were very cliquish and not supportive of the overwhelming pressure of being short staffed and over working the current staff The work itself really wasn’t bad but they managed the department horribly and were very rude and judgmental about everything.
Pros
Pay, bonuses, schedule
Cons
Management

The outstanding customers we service
Warehouse Worker/driver (Former Employee) - College Station, TX - 7 May 2022
Sales person are the best as are the employees. But you have a few back stabbing branch managers. The older you get the more they try and push you to quit or FIRE you for your loyalty for 18 years.

Toxic work environment.
DISPATCHER (Former Employee) - Austin, TX - 3 May 2022
One of the worst job experiences I've had the displeasure of being part of. I am unable to think of anything positive to say about the company. Other than the free breakfast provided once a month.
Pros
Free breakfast once a month.
Cons
Chaotic work environment.

Used to be good, last few years less so-Sales
Field Sales (Former Employee) - metro area - 11 April 2022
This USED to be a good place to make a career and make decent money. You can still advance if you play the game. But Managment has literally built what I call the Ivory Tower in Atlanta where they can make sterilized decisions without regard to the customer, or the reps or managers servicing them. They also have an obsession with analytics and measure everything except what is important like making sure they keep customers and grow vs the competition. Since the whiff of the merger some years ago and till now, it's a train barely staying on the wheels. I'm sure will right itself eventually but it's been 4 years since they've had things really right
Pros
Salary and the Bonus Structure
Cons
Secretive top Management that doesn't understand the business

Chill Job
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Inglewood, CA - 10 April 2022
You have to learn to communicate with people as you do with any other job as people will always be what we’re dealing with. So if you don’t know how to then idk what to tell you.

A decent company… not so much
Field Account Rep (Current Employee) - Sacramento, CA - 7 April 2022
Unprofessional imploding company. Another large company that pretends to care about employee concerns. Transparent arrogance and incompetence from top Sales “Leaders”. Counterproductive micromanaging directives. Leading to low morale which correlates to overall poor service. HDS, currently, has plenty of job openings because people are escaping such a toxic environment
Pros
Co-workers are great
Cons
Micromanaged, clueless Management, busy SF admin work

Work is work
General Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) - 7100 Old Katy Rd - 5 April 2022
The work is work. Its really easy to get sucked in and complain but the jobs a job. You get a routine of things to be done daily and some days that can be finished in 3 hours sometimes it requires an extra hour on top of the shift. Managment at this location is top, but the facility has its issues. Half of the equipment is broken and the warehouse seems to function at half capacity for the amount of workers and functioning equipment it has.

Coworkers are the best
Warehouse Lead/Supervisor (Former Employee) - Charlotte, NC - 2 April 2022
Expect you to work 12 to 15 hours a day on production warehouse is completely trashed everything is out of place nobody does Replens so you gotta go get a lift to pick stuff from the overstock locations but they still expect you to Hit your production numbers the numbers are so high it’s hard to achieve in a perfect environment and this place is far from perfect management does not care about the employees they just want to hit their bonuses

Not Managed Well
Pick Mod 2/Packer (Former Employee) - Flower Mound, TX - 30 March 2022
You're expected to work long hours. No accountability. They blame whoever stays. No real caring about SDS labeling or healthy sharing of work duties. Training is ignored. Management is punished similar to ground employees. Quick sand.

Set you up to fail!
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Knoxville, TN - 25 March 2022
Over worked. Under paid. Competing companies make a significant amount more while working less. Raises are based on a 3% performance scale where missed delieveries, customers not being present, unrealistic job times all screw you out of a good raise so you have to take the little standard 3%. Pay you what they want and when they want. You have to keep track of and monitor your own hours and vacation or they will use and dock your hours how they choose to.

Entry into warehouse jobs
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) - West Sacramento, CA - 20 March 2022
Good entry into warehouse jobs. They will teach you how to use equipment. Monday through Friday. Night shifts start at 1 pm and end when the work is finished. Morning shift ends after 8 hours normally.

Has the ability to be a good workplace if management would quit playing favorites
Driver Associate (Current Employee) - Charlotte, NC - 18 March 2022
Overall it’s an okay company. Decent pay, decent coworkers. The biggest issue is the management. If you are one of those employees who management favors then you’ll do well with this company. However, if you’re not one of those employees your time here will be rough. If the preferential treatment of certain employees would stop then it would be a better place to work at.
