Offers a career, not just a job

I applied to Hilti for one role but was turned down and offered a more entry-level role which I decided to take up as I was confident in their commitment to people development. And I could not be happier to have taken the chance.Hilti not only gave me a rewarding role, with an excellent company culture. But also consistently offered me development areas and projects that interested me so that I could advance my career to the next step. From my initial entry-level role, I've now worked in 4 very rewarding positions (including an international placement) and have many more options available in the future. You will have good days and bad days at any company. And Hilti is no different. It can be stressful, fast-paced and sometimes overwhelming. But you have so much support and resources to ensure that you can handle what's put in front of you.All the managers (including Executive team members) have been excellent and I could not speak more highly of a company that goes above and beyond to provide a rewarding career.

Pros

Development (if you want it), charity initiatives, innovation

Cons

Fast-paced, tough industry

Great Culture & Lots to Learn!

I was swept away by the unique team culture & company culture at Hilti. Very supportive, collaborative & caring. There are many long standing employees who have grown & developed throughout the Company, even internationally as well. It's very fast pace and pushes your out of your comfort zone at times but that's how your learn. There's so much to learn, especially being a Global Company.

Career development opportunities and great culture

From the beginning, your manager works on your career development from short term to long term goals. Already, I have seen great career progression for myself. It has a great culture and Manager's/Executives truly care about the employees.

Pros

Culture

Great place to work at with wonderful teammates

I've never been more glad that I had chosen to work with Hilti. From the first day I was received with warmth and welcomed by the team.Everyone at Hilti Australia genuinely tries to look out for one another, even if we have different opinions sometimes. You can ask anyone for help and the structure is quite flat so you can even feel at ease talking to the executives.

Pros

Great culture, opportunities for international development, benefits

Terrible place to work

This company brags about being one of the best places in the world to work but they achieve that by a high turn over rate and getting rid of anyone that isn't willing to suck up to management. This then means it's the employees living in the managers pockets that are carrying out the surveys that have landed the company the title. Anyone who doesn't suck up gets nowhere and will be beaten down until they don't care to try to improve anymore so they then have an excuse to get rid of them. If you do choose to work here, never mention having a mental illness or you'll be put into the too hard basket for sure

Pros

Free food sometimes

Cons

Expectations too high, they play favorites

Worst career experience

Hilti Aust - thought it was the dream job and it was an absolute nightmare. I worked in senior corporate role, rife with bullying, terrible management & poor corporate culture. Bullying and bad behaviour is not dealt with and EMT are aware of this , often being the ones who sweep the issues under the rug. They preach about 90% of management roles being filled internally but actually all these roles and internal moves are pre determined , people are tapped on the shoulder and given the role before recruitment even starts. Corprate culture has become a joke from when I started. The family spirit about the company is gone, everyone is a number and if someone from the EMT doesn't like you, forget about any kind of career progression. If your in a role for too long your viewed as a blocker and you'll be moved on. It's a sinking ship right now and I couldn't have jumped faster if you paid me.

Don't do it

They show they care then kick you in the guts when you're down and out. It's like being a cult they all gang up together to brain wash you into doing what they want. You work you butt off for everyone else to reach targets. No recognition for helping others. It's all about the sales and not the team that support's the sales team.
