Work Life Balance is only great when you are doing well.

Overall decent company, the forecast is very aggressive and every year you have to hit extremely high goals. The Health insurance is terrible you have 5k high deductible plan. If you are not achieving your goals serious pressure will be placed upon you to hit year in and year out.

Good for growth so long as you try

Great company that will promote you so long as you show that you are committed to sales and the product. Lots of room for opportunities in different divisions of construction. Some management is worthless but the solid compensation and "choose you own adventure" career path and day to day schedule makes up for it.

Pros

Easy work life balance. You get to see some wild stuff on job sites

Cons

Compensation has changed with tough times

Stable company

A place for people who wants to settle down and not move. Dont expect the highest salary packages. But work life balance would be provided at its best. Lot of nepotism and politics within management

Pros

Work life balance

Cons

Low salary

Employees often quit a bad boss, not the company

Great workplace culture, friendly co workers in person. Events often held pre-Covid with yearly gifts for Christmas/Birthdays/Job anniversaries (this has changed slightly since Covid due to budgeting) separate from yearly bonuses. Company will hold lunch and learns, food drives, angel trees etc. Random small events will be held ex. free donuts, free snow cones, summer BBQs, food trucks, Oktoberfest (with no booze, the events have also changed post Covid.)Interviews are very tough, if you can, request a ride a long for the position you are interested in virtually or physically and ask interview advice from current employees. The ride along will help to gauge your interest in the position and possibly make a good impression with other employees. Be sure to ask your recruiter for what the interview format is.Communication between different departments can be rough, commonly different departments are not fond of one another. The company is all about placing you in another "seat" if you aren't loving your current position. The thing is, you will not be moved to another position unless you are doing well in your current position. So if you find yourself not performing as desired you will not likely find assistance unless you can improve your performance. OR if you have an advocate that believes in your abilities. Something I wish I did was network more before I left (LinkedIn) and better record the successes I had and positive improvements I made. Overall a great company with some cons depending on your circumstances. The Cons I had were too long for the Con section:- -

Pros

Great culture, great company, good benefits

Cons

Some bad management, culture of overworking, *quietly* prefers working in person vs. at home

Pricing Can Be A Deal Killer

Compensation Package Not Good This Year. Promotions and Territory success is based on favoritism. Management approve account adjustments to make sure some AM’s are promoted to the next AM level at the end of each year. Hilti is different than it was several years ago. Bring back the 2019 Bonus Plan.

Pros

Company Vehicle

Cons

Price Can Be A Deal Breaker

Fun team-oriented sales team

Hilti is definitely a structured company to work at. This is good in the regard that if you follow the plan you can be successful here. It may be a bit too rigid for more veteran salespeople who came to Hilti later in their careers. This would be the perfect job for a recent college graduate or someone with limited experience with a passion for the construction industry. Being in sales for the majority of my 28 working years I would say most salespeople develop a go it alone mentality by default, but at Hilti you have to embrace teamwork and a certain level of “micro management” to make it here. That’s not a bad thing at all, just the complete opposite of what a salesperson normally gets at a new job.As far as the onboarding and training is concerned it’s second to none and you’ll definitely know the role.Benefits are great and begin on your hire date, which is so generous for a company this size.Teammates are all helpful and welcoming, which is refreshing. No gossip or backstabbing.

Pros

Benefits, company clothing, company vehicle

Cons

Salesforce CRM

Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Good - phenomenal health insurance; very cheap, great coverage. Literally the best I've ever had. Two 30min breaks for an 8hr shift. Usually pretty good about letting people take (unpaid) time off.The rest - Rampant favoritism. Awful management. Hostile work environment. Incredibly dirty/terrible air quality. Zero room for advancement. Very boring. No work/life balance. Dangerous plant. Run down machines. The company doesn't care about you and the union is a joke. You'll likely be forced to work 10-12hrs a day, 6-7 days a week for months at a time during peak seasons, then be laid off when you run yourself out of work; it happens like clockwork almost every year.

Pros

top tier insurance, long breaks

Cons

everything else

Good Place to Work

A solid company to work for with great benefits. Work life balance is very good here and can be flexible when things come up. Company likes to promote within, so a lot of opportunity to move into other roles if you're mobile.

Pros

Benefits, Work-Life Balance, Comp is decent

Cons

Tough to earn promotions

good company

Great place to start your career but Hiltis's constant need to promote internally puts unqualified people in management positions. If you have a good manager youll be great, if not, beware.

Pros

Flexible, fun

Cons

Weak compensation

Solid company

Company promotes from within. If you are willing to travel there are unlimited possibilities. During COVID they did not lay anyone off and ensured everyone received proper pay. Lots of training - takes about 2 years to become fully vested in training.

Pros

Great company with growth potential. Salary + Bonus structure

Cons

Lots of metrics to focus on

A company that cares about its employees..for the most part

I have been at Hilti for about 4 years. Initially, upper management and the way we worked was poor. After being there for a couple years management completely changed from the top down. However, the overall job for us has remained the same. It is not challenging and unless you're willing to relocate, promotion opportunities are few and far between. On-the-job training is great as we have highly experienced coworkers. However, the company as a whole does not offer sufficient training for professional development. This is a great company if you are early in your career looking to gain experience in the construction industry, but not if you are looking for competitive pay and promotion opportunities, especially given your credentials/experience.

Pros

Culture, Flexibility, Great benefits and teammates

Cons

Career advancement, change management, total compensation

Strong Company

Company is strong and reliable. Product is very superior to competitors. Benefits are pretty decent. There are 5 repair facilities in the US and one of them gets all of the attention and praise constantly.

Pros

M-F work weeks. Decent benefits. Pay is ok for an entry-level person.

Cons

Not many

Ambiente lavorativo molto stressante

Poca formazione e fatta male. Assenza di collaborazione, anche se con le parole fanno grandi promesse. Tanta mobbing. Uno deve essere uno ruffiano per crescere. Fanno finta di volere assumere categorie protette ma alla fine ti costringono a dimettersi. Azienda molto stressante. Poco piacevole l'ambiente di lavoro.

Pros

Buoni pasto

Cons

Affiancamento assente - Corsi chiamati GOAL senza scopo

Pros

Orario e buoni pasto

Cons

Istruzione formativa

Good report with co workers...not so with management

I worked for Hilti for 10 years. The pay was competitive. They were never happy with the performance of their employees. They expected your undying devotion and loyalty and didn't return it. I was hurt on the job and they turned their back on me. I didn't even get a card while in the hospital. I thought I still had a job with them but was confronted at worker's compensation court by their attorney. Either accept their offer or they would drag the settlement out forever. I had to agree to never work for them ever again. How's that for loyalty? Enough said...

Pros

Pay

Cons

Too much favoritism.

Good, but not great

They make good products and there are many good people that work for Hilti. New senior leadership does not seem to have the best interest of the sales team in mind and the culture is weakening. Sales targets are way too ambitious which make it very difficult to earn significant bonus pay. They talk a lot about listening to their employee's, but they really don't on most issues. Benefits are pretty good overall.

Pros

High quality products to sell

Cons

Crazy high targets. Too many bad leaders.

Ambiente di lavoro pessimo.

Poca formazione e fatta male. Poca collaborazione, anche se con le parole fanno grandi promesse. E' una multinazionale, e come tale l'individuo non viene considerato.

Pros

Buoni pasto e buona retribuzione.

Cons

Poco piacevole l'ambiente di lavoro.
