Unfortunately, the bigger issues such as funding, staffing, and managerial expertise make working for HNE a nightmare. This is such a shame because there are many amazing workers with great initiative and care for patients who deserve better. The role itself was complex and challenging which was stimulating, enjoyable, and rewarding although recognition and support of your efforts is not a part HNEs culture. Every day there is a crisis of some sort, which places more pressure on workers to perform. Staff morale is low and hard to shake when you get home. Health deteriorated as the months went on. The irony is that many "health workers" at HNE suffer physically and psychologically from such an unsupportive and stressful workplace. I'm sure there are other areas of HNE that do not have such acute issues but if you can deal with all of this then good luck!
Toxic culture, poor management, no support
Worked at Everymind, which receives government funding to ptomote mental wellbeing, however the managers don't practise what they preach. Targeted harassment and bullying are rampant and senior leadership at HNE Health tolerate it. Lack of transparency or acvountability. You'll get sick if you go to work there.

Enjoyed the team that i worked with and look forward to been in a new workplace and team if successful in getting the job at Tamworth Base Hospital as Assistant in Nursing at the Deployment Unit. As i miss working in a role that im passionate about in helping people get well or keep comfort care
Overall it was good, working with a great team makes a big difference. Very flexible hours. Opportunity to attend training to update skills. Management are quick to act on issues between staff. Good pay rates and they offer salary sacrifice.
Have been working with an excellent team of nurses and allied health who provide high standards of care to their patients .Sometimes difficult to balance best outcomes for patients while dealing with bed pressures

The Hospital Assistant is responsible for the preparation and delivery of food services for patients, staff and other identified clients; the cleaning and servicing of areas on campus and those designed areas off campus; linen distribution and collection within the facility; and waste collection, in accordance with the HNEAHS policies, service delivery standards and operation. This position entails shift work, weekend work and public holidays

I learned lots, staff were friendly, I'm talking about secretarial staff. I had the opportunity to work in the wards. It was different work environment.
Great staff wanting to help the community
there was a high turn over of patients we were running out of the planned menu food, felt comfortable to ask management about what to do, they advised me to talk to the diet aid. We discussed the options and with the help of the rest of the staff we were able to serve our food on time..In high stress situtations you need carm management which is what I got. Hardest part of the job is making sure u have put enough food out to cover any situation that might change. The best part getting the food ready..

I would recommend Hunter New England Health as a work because it is a great place to work. The people are great, the atmosphere is amazing. A typical day at the office is always busy and always something different I learned time managent skills and I learnt about files and coding. Managment and team members are great and easy going but are also there for anything you need.
Not enough hours in the day
Hunter New England Health provided me with experience that I have carried over into my own personal life. I made great new friends in my co workers. management were very understanding when I had a personal issue . the loss of a loved one. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and experience at The Maitland Hospital.

By my own rating everying about working as a court diversion case manager was fantastic.... except job security because I was in the position awaiting a redundancy A typical day was never typical, attending court, new referrals, assessments for the Magerstrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT), liasing with the legal fraternity. Other days were filled by working with complex clients, (counselling, liasing with various services, supporting, facilitating group work). My co-workers were great, some I had worked with in previous areas of drug and alcohol, we werea family. There was no hard part of the job per say except feeling the heartache of a significant other in relation to a breakdown caused by another,s drug use. The most enjoyable part of the job was a client completing the program, standing in court and the client being acknowledged for their achievement. HNEH management had an open door policy and was always very supportive. What I learned.... In 22 years of working and helping people as a nurse and drug and alcohol worker I have learned that we are all people,... we are all different, and none of us are perfect. There is an element of good in most if not all people, given the conditions and situation for it (the good) to shine through. It certainly shone through on many ocassions working in MERIT
