Secure, just not for me

busy schedule, long hours, not always numerated for excess overtime. HR very contactable and supportive through any issues. I had a great time employed there but left very burnt out.

Don't apply for this company
Bartender (Former Employee) - Crown VIC - 19 December 2022
a lot of disorganization. First day of Trial with the time indicated by the General Manager and I wasn't even expected on shift, too much staff shortage with the result that as a Bartender I also had to bring drinks to the tables. Furthermore, no communication received despite passing the test, no message, no contact, no other information. No one even let me know if I would be on duty or not, or any news for the days to come. In addition to all this, despite the Trial being paid, no one asked me for any payment details. Basically I worked for FREE.

Poorly managed stressful workplace
Bartender (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 11 February 2020
The turnover for management was worse than the staff. In a revolving door industry this is a huge red flag for anyone pursuing a career at Rockpool...

Demanding but balanced work life
Senior Waiter (Former Employee) - Southbank VIC - 13 January 2020
The food is intricate and has a steep learning curve at first. The wine is small and easy enough to get your head around but the cocktail/mocktail list is extensive. Bigger sections are appointed to those with more experience which can be very demanding as customers expectations are high.
Working hours are never too high and pay/tips are industry leading.
Work place culture is fairly causal even for a hatted restaurant.

Always busy and stressful. Out by is strict because they need tables free for the next booking. Procedure is complicated. Managers and co-workers always point out mistakes rather than support. Finish work at 1 or 2am is normal here.
