Great Benefits , No Work Life Balance

Indeed Featured review

Advancement is hard to manage and navigate. Promotion growth is slow. No Work Life balance so constantly up at terrible hours or staying up late to meet project deadlines.

Pros

Benefits - work from home, commitment to giving back, paid parental leave, financial advsors access, 401K, Hsa

Cons

No work life balance, hard for upward mobility, not clear cut path for progression

Great place to work the first ten years

Manager hired from Accenture that destroyed my career at IBM. Had a great performance track until this individual was hired. Upper leadership was afraid to speak out in my defense.

Exciting mission with huge potential, but no clear management

It's an exciting place to say you work for, but not always an exciting place to work in. I have moved around IBM a few times and enjoyed the opportunity to work in a variety of roles. If you want to do something different, there is probably a role available somewhere in IBM. Unfortunately, it just takes a long time to find it. There needs to be more direction, however, and more commitment within the business to train your managers and build a consistent culture. Legacy IBMers need to change with the new age of technology and so does IBM.

Pros

Flexible hours, exciting direction in health

Cons

Legacy management, archaic systems, no proper manager training leaves mediocre managers that don't care about their employees' careers
