I’ve worked for IHMS for many years in different nursing roles. Many years ago the pay was really great and it was a fantastic way of travelling and working. The pay really dropped in recent years and opportunity for travel remains but is limited. The recruitment process is quite poor and there have been times when great staff could not get repeat contracts and terrible staff kept returning. The team dynamics for this reason were variable. The work itself is quite challenging and fast paced. You need really good critical thinking skills and good computer skills. The structure of the company itself is quite top heavy. I’d like to see more people on the ground. For the most part though, I always felt well supported by my immediate management.

Have completed quite a few contracts. The support is fantastic. The professionalism is paramount. Positive feedback. So many aspects of nursing covered in all roles completed, made for an overall great experience.

Not well paid considering the lengthy periods of time away from home. Bonuses were heavily taxed. Several weeks off at a time without income so it averaged out to what you would earn at a regular job where you could stay home rather than fifo

A good company to work for with supportive management. The company provides good training facilities and recognises hard work. It also provides a good learning environment and encourages innovation in the workplace.

Doesn't look after employees, wont invest in supervision or training. Treats you like a number. Quantity not quality. Fly in Fly out lifestyle is the only things that makes it worthwhile.

Former employer with IHMS. It use to be financially beneficial to work for IHMS but unfortunately it is no longer competitive. Interesting work but no job security.

Interesting. Can work remote although this has reduced.

Cons

Unsupportive management. Limited employee benefits, pay no longer competitive like it was several years ago. No job security.

Very interesting work experience. Challenging and rewarding work. Management with frequent lack of support which is critical in remote, high stress areas. I was privileged to work with some of the best clinicians I have ever met. No accountable way to address grievances. Formerly excellent benefits and pay. It was an excellent way to see Australia.
