Good money but poor management
Stores perso (Former Employee) - Melbourne Airport VIC - 27 November 2021
worked in the warehousing/stores area for over 5 years and even though the pay is good the majority of the management have no idea or are generally apathetic to making any real change or offering support. There are a few toxic people you work with but it's manageable. not the worst place but not the best place either. Majority of stores and warehousing staff are also working 12 hour days on a rotation roster, some like it, others hate it.
Pros
good pay, rotating roster
Cons
Long hours, rotating roster

Fun place to be, great working environment, everyone works with each other to achieve a positive experience and outcome. Meeting and making new friends for life being in the industry.
Pros
Travel, people and progression in career
Cons
Long hours, away from family and friends in holiday periods. Sacrifices 365 no matter what

Good culture, great benefits for travellers
Customer Service Officer (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 29 March 2021
I’ve worked at Jetstar for 3 years and counting. The job is demanding, challenging and exciting. Each day is incredibly different from one another which keeps the job exciting year after year. The company as a group does a lot to look after it’s staff but I think it’s often lost along the way. It’s hard to say bad on the company but also hard to say good sometimes. I’d say they’re somewhat average in terms of management. Depending on your situation, the way they deal with you can be very very hit and miss. The staff travel benefits are incredible. Prepare to travel the world in style, spontaneously and quickly on your days off - or enjoy a round the world trip in business class during your annual leave. The money is in penalty rates. Weekends, overtime etc. The roster is online so we can swap instantly with others and see who is eligible to swap with us, meaning as a part timer you can easily manipulate your roster to get up to ten days off in a row without taking leave (working 2 days a week, 10 hours each at the start and end of the rostered fortnight). This makes it awesome for that 3 day trip to Bali or even a trip to Europe. One of my colleagues went from Sydney to Zurich for a theatre show during her 3 days off.
Pros
Staff travel
Cons
Stress, challenges, management

Awful
Customer Service Officer (Former Employee) - Perth WA - 29 August 2020
People believe that working at an airport is great. If you are single with no commitments maybe, as it's split shifts, at times those shifts have a 2 - 3 hour wait period, so not long enough to go home relax and come back, no point.. you just go sit at the lunch area, so you feel the day drags on. The money is appalling I would not recommend. The people are clicky and most think they are too good to be spoken to
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything

Great job! Professional environment
First Officer (Brisbane) (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 9 April 2020
Really enjoyed the job. Each day was different as you are in Hawaii one day, and Tokyo the following week. Plenty of variety with many South East Asian destinations operated in and out of. Daily challenges as each flight performed was an opportunity to grow in operational management along with technical experience.
A high standard of personal flight discipline required of each pilot. Great ongoing technical support, and recurrent training provided.

A fabulous place to work, mixture of fun and professionalism
International Business Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 29 March 2020
Jetstar recruits a lot of young people for their cabin crew. They have a good attitude to work, life balance and I personally found them all fun to work with.

Poor culture and management
Senior Manager - IT, JETSTAR A/NZ (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 7 October 2019
Difficult culture with slow management action. Interesting industry but culture varied significantly between groups. Coordination was difficult and culture was unmanaged

Culture, Hardest part, Most enjoyable.
CDC Stores Administrator (Former Employee) - Melbourne,Australia - 27 May 2019
I completed a 9 week contract to clear a back log of folders. The culture overall was amazing. My contract boss was amazing with all his team members. The Jet star one was not so much. He didn't have a clue about his job and never really did anything. As I witnessed the real reason to why there was a back log in the first place. The Jet star boss never took notice that the original person, Who's job I covered for a holiday. Was not and has not worked to full potential and takes advantage of her surroundings.
But overall I absolutely loved the role I completed and was extremely happy with all other employees and the work life.

Gold coast base was very pleasant
Manager (Former Employee) - Gold Coast QLD - 15 October 2018
Gold coast airport was a smaller airport making it less of a headache to navigate. This also meant less crew (Engineers, Ground staff, Flight crew included) which makes for a nicer airport experience, in my opinion.
Pros
Gold coast airport was a smaller airport making it less of a headache to navigate.
Cons
I felt like just a number, very replaceable

Dynamic workplace
Senior Project Manager (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 16 August 2018
Real can do attitude exists in many departments however this can be offset by 'blame' culture within middle management. Management ranks are populated with people that are subject to very heavy workloads and time constraints that prevent/restricts their ability to understand problems as they emerge. The eventual remedial actions are typically in the form of fire fighting and sticking fingers in each leaking hole.
Pros
Great growth profile
Cons
Blame culture

Very Good
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Sydney Domestic Airport NSW - 15 January 2018
Completed a temporary role for Jet Star over the busy Christmas and New year period.
Good working atmosphere with a friendly team, despite unsocial hours, would highly recommend.

Easy and social workplace
Cabin Crew Member (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 7 March 2017
A great job if you're big on customer service. You get to see lots of new place and meet hundreds of new people a day. Good range of young and older coworkers
Pros
Easy job, get to travel, meet new people
Cons
Long hours, sick all the time, miss out on a lot of things due to being away

Loved working with many nationalities and using my language skills everyday for on-board announcements.
Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Gold Coast, QLD - 16 April 2015
The review of Jetstar as a company is unfortunately low. However, I did love my career as a Flight Attendant, I loved every duty and would do it again, if my hours could be more flexible. They work their employees too much with little benefit for overtime, which I did frequently.
I am one of many that have had to chase up 12+ months of superannuation which they did not pay us.
Also, overtime was not beneficial.
We had to do 17+ hour suties, then just 10 hours break then another 17+ hour duty again.
Very exhausting!
Pros
Travelling for work
Cons
Always exhausted as Jetstar overwork their employees.
