Casual Sales Assistant, packing, cleaning in Kfc cowpasture road

great learning experience
My last job was a great learning experience for me. I learned that I have some skills that I should work on, and some that I'm good at. In my last position, I figured out what I really need in a manager, and how I thrive as an employee.

Great work culture, training and customer service experience.
The work culture and friendly co-workers and supervisors are what make the 5 hour shifts bearable. It's not hard work except for standing for hours on end with minimal breaks and dealing with the occasional angry customer, just usual customer service things. The training progress is long but the experience is great to advance your career in food or customer service. The pay is above minimum wage for age which is also a big plus!

Good first job, predominantly friendly environment
A good first job that offers plenty of opportunity to pick up extra shifts/work. However pay is mediocre and lacks any real employee benefits. Able to develop long lasting friendships with co-workers, management were easy approachable, but lacked coordination. Great for students, with super flexible hours.

Fun place to work but low hours
KFC is a great place to start your first job, and earn some money. The positives about the job are: supportive team members, you’re able to learn new skills, 20% staff discount, and the job is a fun environment. The negatives are: some managers cannot be bothered with you, and some customers are rude, sometimes I’d get little to no hours, and everyone else got lots - even though I put through availability every week, and the pay is little low at 10.91 an hr for 15 years olds, but that increases to $13 when you get to 16 years.

Stressful and Hypocritical Management
As an employee for 5 years, I’ve been through A LOT. The training is slack you kinda have to learn on your own. I would say it’s an okay first job, you learn heaps of skills. The managers are strict for no reason and talk bad about employees. The structure of it all is inefficient and hard. You will probably be on front counter for a year before progressing. Peak times are so stressful. Long hours sometimes no break. Rude customers.
