pretty good
Team Member (Current Employee) - Queensland - 26 November 2023
Working as a casual on presentation, the job isn't too bad. The other team members are friendly but the work can be pretty repetitive, such as cleaning up entire sections in 3 hours.

Amazing place to work at for teenagers
Casual Employee (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 8 November 2023
Professionally run, amazing training and great place overall to work at. If you show up to your shift early, you clock in and get to rest in the break room before you start. Everyone is friendly and depending on where you work you'll always have something to do. If you have an issue or need help, there is no problem with using the 'push to talk' equipment and ask for a manager. The pay is something that is asked a lot, and I believe Kmart has one of the best pays for teenagers. As a casual 17 year old, I'm getting paid close to $22 an hour. It is not difficult, but you are expected to do your best. You cannot be seen fluffing around if you're on the floor, for example. You need to be doing something as there is never time to stand around. This is the type of job where you cannot sneakily glance at your phone and expect to get away with it, which I think teaches great discipline. Kmart also is a great first customer service job which you can earn many skills in, especially if you're aiming to get another job in the future. Many jobs require knowledge on cash registers, company protocols, customer service and social skills, and just overall developing a strong work ethic. Working at Kmart is also a great experience to make new friends and converse with people in the same age group.
Pros
Gaining new skills, perfect amount of hours (3.5-4 hour shifts), always busy
Cons
Sometimes tiring, can get mentally draining talking to customers all day (this especially, as I suffer from anxiety), pressure being put on yourself to act your best
