Lots of Training
Field Service Technician (Current Employee) –  Shelby Twp, MI26 March 2019
KUKA provides a ton of training for new and old employees alike. There is always room to grow as an employee, but not always the easiest to move up in the company.

High Turnover / Cut Throat Environment
Controls Engineer (Former Employee) –  Sterling Heights, MI25 October 2018
Working as a Controls Engineer or PLC programmer, you will most likely be blamed for their lack of planning or poor management more times than not unless you end up in their good ole boys club. If you are a motivated worker with ambition's to excel, be prepared for their leveraging of excessive workloads and unlikely time lines for completion. This company is not family friendly and management will force you to work or threaten your livelyhood if you do not comply at their every beck and call. Although you have a highly desirable skill set, be prepared to be treated like a production worker. They're used to high turnover rates, so don't think that you have any kind of job security.
Pros
Some days are a lot of fun and rewarding
Cons
Cut throat management as well as some of your peers

Assembly Technician (Current Employee) –  Shelby Charter Township, MI22 June 2018
There is very good potential to move in the company to different positions and the company has potential but I don't feel that the "top dogs" are involved enough with what goes on.

Great tech, great people, poor management
Engineer (Current Employee) –  Austin, TX30 March 2018
The technology is really interesting and the co-workers are friendly and fun.
Unfortunately, the management has understaffed every team and asks for unrealistic deadlines. In addition, the average person is underpaid and management uses the "tech" as a rationale to underpay.
Pros
Great location, cool tech, robots!
Cons
under-staffed, poor leadership, underpaid

Sales Applications Engineer (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CA31 August 2017
Kuka hires smart people and does not insult your intelligence once hired. You are allowed to manage your own customer and coworker relations with minimal supervision. Good work and positive results are always acknowledged.
Pros
Flexible work environment
Cons
Some language/cultural barriers

Electrician (Former Employee) –  Sterling Heights, MI6 February 2017
I worked for them for about 2 years and was one of the top electricians. As soon as they got slow they laid me off without even a day notice. This is not respectful.

Stepping stone, not a career move
Field Service Engineer (Former Employee) –  Shelby Township, MI23 August 2016
Stop with the "turn and burn" approach you have with road warriors. Every (2) years there is a mass exodus of Service Engineers and that's directly related to how the work horses are beaten down over and over again while the "do nothings" of the group are coddled. The good workers have a hard time getting weekends off and vacation time approved. Quit the micro management of the good workers and start looking a little more at the lesser techs. Hold the sub-par employees accountable for their shoddy work. Provide a company credit card for travel expenses - there's no reason a company of this size should expect us to float the costs of travel.
Pros
Pay is good, plenty of travel (if you're into that), company provided training
Cons
Poor management, no room for advancement if you're good at your job, decent insurance is way too expensive considering the size of the company, no company credit card for travel

I learned alot from some fresh talent from younger maintainence people that came from all over, including Germany. It was interesting.

Good company with great benefits
Sales Operations (Current Employee) –  Shelby Township, MI15 May 2013
Working with the international side of business was great. Local branch has some moral issues (gossiping). Hardest part of the job was trying to please international headquarters and local subsidiary which at times had opposite objectives. Immediate team was very collaborative both internationally and locally.
Pros
free lunch and beverages, trips to Germany, great benefits
Cons
gossiping, back biting
