Stressful workplace
Front of House Staff (Former Employee) - Edmondson Park NSW - 7 June 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe LoneStar I worked at was amazing when it cane to the team, as we all respected each other, but the management made it hard to stay. The management team made it stressful to take days off and get shifts replaced, it was stressful trying to work my way around their hours given to me, even when my unavailability was given to them.

Avoid at all costs
Waiter (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 7 June 2022
If I could rate management at zero I would. In the three months I have worked here, we have already gone through three managers, each being the worse than the last. The only good thing about this place is the pay and my co-workers. They are amazing. They have continually reduced my hours to a point that I can’t support my bare minimum bills and the current manager is so mean and rude to most of it’s employees. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Pros
Nice co-workers, Nice pay
Cons
Management is bad

Great workplace with great staff and amazing management
Waitress (Current Employee) - Penrith NSW - 8 February 2022
Lonestar Penrith is by far one of the best places I have worked. Not only do you get taught everything you need to know to complete every task you may be given, you also get to work with great people all round who will most likely end up becoming like family. The management team is very fair and are always there for you no matter the issue and they try their very best to help you out in any way they can. The rosters are based on merit but they try their hardest to make sure that the shifts and duties are shared around fairly and they also make sure that everyone gets a decent amount of hours every week.
Pros
Discount on meals and Penalty rates on weekends
Cons
Mostly weekend work

Fast-paced and pleasant environment
Waitress (Current Employee) - Jamisontown NSW - 8 February 2022
Great at developing their staff members especially from a runner into a waitstaff. Management is approachable and genuinely care about the wellbeing of their staff. Good environment to be able to create new friendships between staff members.

Started good but went downhill fast
Waitress/Bartender/temporary supervisor (Former Employee) - Orange NSW - 7 June 2021
I started working at Lonestar in orange as one for the first stuff and it was great I have very happy for months but then COVID-19 happened and a lot change which I understand had to happened and I was fine with that but we lost quite a few stuff so who was left had to pick up the extra work where to was getting to much we had no Manager or supervisor for a very long time so me and an other was left to full that role unexpectedly and all I did was work go home and work is was really really hard for me to take a day off and I know being in hospitality you have to work weekends but not every weekend We finally got a Manager and supervisor which I thought great I can go back to being a normal staff but nope I was like the 2IC and it just kept getting worse there was no communication between the manager and the supervisor the manager would say one thing then the supervisor said another and the manager was the Head chef. I was working so much that I was so tired that my work ethic was getting bad and I was being a person I didn’t recognise I had been work there for a year and then I moved to the next Town over and said that I would be certain days so I wasn’t driving on the highway after doing a 10 hour shift and there fired me I got an email saying I was no longer a staff member after WORKING THERE FOR A YEAR no phone call no message saying “hey we know you moved and want to still work let’s set down and have a talk to better suit your request” but nope I am really really surprised that it’s still running I think HQ needs to step in and help make it the work place I know it -
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
No Communication

Bartender/Floor Staff (Former Employee) - Kirrawee NSW - 3 December 2019
Was promised full time with overtime, after three 60 hour weeks was told that the business could not afford overtime. Still yet to receive owed overtime.

Worst place I have ever worked
General Manager (Former Employee) - Kirrawee NSW - 2 September 2019
Totally hopeless management from the franchise managers, setting up the franchisees to fail... Outdated systems and archaic work practices, basically 0 F's given...

Good staff but poorly run
Cook/Kitchen Hand (Current Employee) - Newcastle NSW - 24 July 2019
I lost all holidays and superannuation due to negligent management. The staff I worked with were great mostly because we had to run the place ourselves
