You'll only be getting a total of 9 hours a week and your not guaranteed a spot in part time the pay isn't great but the Lovisa itself is a good environment

Horrible place.

Worked here for for 3 years. Worst 3 years of my life. Only good part about the job was the staff members you got to work with. The regional and management are bully's. Not helpful, make your job stressful, they don't care. They have 14 year olds piercing people. If you don't do a minimum sell of piercings or add ons the regional will call you up and abuse you through out the day.Don't walk, run away from this place.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Disgusting

Wasting time

I was working at Lovisa for over a month. They hired us as part time but they give us only less than 10hrs for a week. That’s not enough hours. And also area manager always changes the shift schedule without saying anything. And sometimes they called me at 7am early morning to offer me to work on the day.Even you haven’t gotten enough training for opening and closing, they will put you in opening and closing shift suddenly. We need to handle the store by one person even if it’s on weekends. This is impossible to do piercing and do cashier at same time.I would never recommend to work here to anyone.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Not enough hours, too much things with low payment

Rude and stressful environment

management was unprofessional and rude. The conditions were stressful. Only thing I liked about my job was the people I worked with and so when they left, I followed.

Hi, It's great to hear that you worked along side great team :) Thank you for your feedback. Lovisa

Unprofessional management & underpaid.

My time working in Lovisa was pretty average at most when I first started I was getting around 15-20 hours even sometimes 25 hrs a week which is pretty good for a part timer but not so long after I was given shifts ranging from literally 3 hours to maybe 5 (once or twice a week) pretty poor effort as a store and from the manager. Most times I'd have to stay back extra 30 mins to "moc" / clean up the store (and got no extra pay for my time) the managers are unprofessional and not much feedback was given on my performance. Until the higher up would complain. Strict dress code (apparently no logo showing) ridiculous expectations for a job that a 12 year old is capable of. (Lunch Breaks extremely short)There are many many better retail places to work at , avoid.

Pros

50% off team discount

Cons

Underpaid & unprofessional

not worth the time and energy

the job itself is super fun i really loved it. but the lack of communication, being disregarded when you tell management the shifts you absolutely cannot work then getting rostered on and made to work them anyway, the super low pay rates and the stress put on workers just wasn’t worth the time and energy in the end. i loved the people i worked with and what i got to do in the job, but only getting 3-5 hours a week as an adult won’t even pay for your petrol to get you to and from work. i was constantly having to step up and take lead in times where it was not my job to do so which put an endless amount of stress and pressure on me. i was doing more than what i was getting paid for. i made management well aware of the hours i COULD work as i told them countless times, and yet they would constantly disregard it and put me on the times they knew for a fact i could not work. not to mention i had been working there for 11 months, did SO much for them that i shouldn’t have ever even had to do like train people when that’s not my job, cover shifts for everyone constantly, work at 7 in the morning even after i told them i can’t work those shifts, before the store even opens just to get things done and basically had to step up as an assistant manager at times without having that role nor being paid for it, and yet when i resigned it was the poorest and most salty goodbye i’ve ever gotten. the hours were not evenly distributed what so ever between team members. some of us would have one 3 hour shift one week and then 20 hours the next. i ended up having to contact regional about getting -

Hi, thank you for providing us with your feedback. We care about our Lovisa Team, and we will explore your feedback. Thank you – Lovisa xx

very poor workplace

Managers are rude and not empathetic at all. The girls that work in store are lovely but there is a huge lack of communication, compassion and proper help. Once I started I received no training and was expected to know how everything goes. A group of us started at a similar time and all were forced into just being expected to know what do. Rosters are unreliable and never good. So so underpayed for the work being done. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to work here

Hi, Its great to hear you enjoyed working with your team! Thank you for sharing all your feedback. Lovisa xx

The worse communication, Uncompassionate management, little to no training.

The people working there are lovely, however, the stress and lack of empathy from managers are shocking. The training that is provided to you is not comprehensive, and reliant on online, nonpractical modules - honestly had to pick up the rest myself. They expect you to know everything, and my manager was particularly passive-aggressive despite the BARE MINIMUM amount of training they provided.Communication is a NIGHTMARE. Between regionals and store managers, everything is muddled up and there is no respect whatsoever. I have never felt so utterly disrespected in my life. Not worth sacrificing your mental health and wellbeing for this job at all, the pay isn't even sufficient for what the job throws at you. Please don't put yourself through this unless desperate- there are plenty of other fine, welcoming retailers out there to work with. Another thing that I and a lot of the girls disliked was the heavy reliance on Add Ons as a measure of performance - being expected and basically forced to pressure customers to purchase items they clearly don't want - it's uncomfortable for both the employees and the customers. Totally understand that KPI targets need to be met, but it's honestly insane the pressure and expectation.

Pros

Employee Discount 50%

Cons

Irregular rostering even as a part time, ignorance of availability, rude managers, inconsiderate and unforgiving management and communication.

Hi, thank you for sharing. Your feedback has been raised with the team because at Lovisa it’s all about continuous improvement. Thank you – Lovisa xx

Nightmare Job

Please don't do it.Save yourself from this sinking ship. I pushed through for 3 years and I can say it is the worst place I've ever worked at. I've watched regional managers make girls cry in store, with no compassion. You're going to be treated like an animal and made to feel like you hold no value whatsoever.

Pros

Nothing is worth this pain.

Cons

Unrealistic kpi's Micro managing Terrible communication

Don't work here!

110% recommend not working here! I worked at Lovisa for a week and then put in my notice to leave. My first day I did an open shift (7am start) and was asked to arrive 15 minutes early (without pay but I didn't mind) but when I got there, exactly 15 mins early, there was no one there until 7. The team culture isn't very good and I definitely did not feel supported throughout the training process. The training is inadequate and you're required to do ALOT of modules for training at home which are time consuming. It is a lot to take in, especially if it's your first job, and the expectations and responsibilities are far beyond the pay rate. Be prepared to be asked last minute to cover shifts and also have your shifts constantly changed. For example, one day I was asked to do a 3 hour shift which I agreed to, but then my manager cut my shift down to a 2 hour shift. For the rest of the week, I had 2 hour shifts. For the next 2 weeks in the pre-planned rosters, I was given one 3 hour shift per week, which isn't ideal considering I have a 2 year old to support and am studying. I am happy I left right after the first week of working. I'm telling you right now, whoever is reading this or considering working at Lovisa, this is your sign not to. Don't do it, girl!

Cons

- Little to no hours - Low Pay rate

Highly competitive and stressful

While I would not recommend working at Lovisa, I do believe that the job did teach me to go far beyond my comfort zones. However the higher management (regional and state managers) that you have to work with have unrealistic and unreasonable expectations of they’re employers, creating a toxic and stressful environment.

Pros

Good experience for dealing with frustrating situations

Cons

Not enough staff, constant change in authority, unrealistic expectations, stressful

Poorly trained

- I feel most stall are very undertrained - Late hours and over time that is not paid for - management feel unapproachable - Minimal hours provided however often called in few hours before to pick up shifts - very competitive between stores

do not recommend

I do not recommend at all, management like to gossip and do not seem to have respect for workers. It was a hostile environment to work in, although the other girls are great to work with, management is a big let down an I would steer clear.

Good training

Work culture fake and unhealthy . Work activities were great however certain supervisors were unrealistic and rude. I wouldn't mind to work with lovis if in another location.

Great environment and supportive workplace.

Very good culture, felt very supported by the managers and other staff. I learnt a lot while I was working there but I did struggle to get many shifts.

Not the best place to work at

The management is bad. They change the roster whenever they want and sometimes the day before and expect you to work even if you have plans for the day. They force you to come in even if you are sick and can provide proof of sickness if they are unable to find a cover. On top of that they can be extremely rude with the way they handle objections regarding any matter. Also during non-busy periods you get very minimal hours such as 3 hours per week. If you're looking for something with more stable hours then this is not the place for you. There are some benefits such as team discounts and a fun group of team members to work with.

Pros

half price on jewellery

Cons

Too many
