- Fair pay for job
- General feeling of work happiness
An okay workplace
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 11 September 2023
The management is not the best and it really depends on the person you work with. The energy is more like a girl boss environment. Heard some people were asked to close the store alone in her third shift which I heard it could happen occasionally. However the people that I worked with are really nice and we had fun working together.
Pros
Casual job
Cons
Management

Great co-workers, poor management
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Miranda NSW - 29 August 2023
Great people working there, super friendly and will try to make you feel as comfortable as possible when starting. The management is quite messy and poor.

Worst place
Part Time Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Bankstown NSW - 2 August 2023
I’ve worked for lovisa for 2 years and it was terrible . state and regional managers do not know what mental health is, they over work you for little pay. Are manipulative, over work you and underpay you. They talk a lot badly about their workers, I would not recommend. Your co workers however become your best friends as you’ll have a lot in common about the management. Managers are fine it’s only the people that are “higher up”.

Disgusting management, life was ruined as an employee here
Part Time Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Myer Centre QLD - 28 July 2023
The management is very biased and plays favourites. Other than that, they don't know how to do their job, roster employees or be respectful towards them. They expect our lives to revolve around the store despite the fact that some are just part-time workers with other things to do during their weeks as well. They increased the pay rate by a dollar, everyones hours got cut and because the store was so short-staffed, they started calling every employee to work clearly the timings revolved around the management and store and which employee was the youngest and cheapest to pay. They expect the team members to train new employee rather than the manager training them. You are pushed to the deep end from the very beginning. They definitely give more importance to KPIs and not their employees mental health or wellbeing. The employees who are the managers pets get away with doing anything they want and face no consequences. Worst company I have every worked for and I had to start therapy again because of this company. They are relentless and have no empathy or sympathy for anyone at all.
Pros
50% discount
Cons
everything and everyone

High pressure, low benefits
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Sydney NSW - 11 July 2023
The only benefit there is working at Lovisa is the 50% discount on overpriced jewelry and if you’re lucky, good teammates. Good teammates will make the workday more bearable. A lot of pressure to meet KPIs which are generally unrealistic

management
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Castle Hill NSW - 8 July 2023
One significant issue was the lack of communication and support from higher-level management. Important updates and changes in policies or procedures were often communicated poorly or not at all, leaving employees confused and unprepared. This lack of clear communication resulted in a disorganized work environment and made it challenging to meet customer expectations effectively.

Good place to work
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - George Street NSW - 6 July 2023
However, it is unfortunate that the same cannot be said for the management. The management here has consistently shown a lack of understanding, empathy, and respect for the workers. There seems to be a disconnect between their actions and the well-being of the employees.

Jobs at lovisa
Sales Assistant positionsDon't work here
Part Time Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - All Sydney NSW - 30 May 2023
The dress code is insanely strict, almost the same as a catholic all-girls school. You’re not allowed to wear any sneaker shoes, boots with laces, no jeans or street cargo pants etc. You have to buy extra clothes to fit their dress code which is not it for the amount they pay. Management cares about their employees enough to be passable for the fair work laws. All they see is money & they keep pressuring us abt add-ons and premium package piercings. If you don't sell add-ons soon, the manager (depending on who) will go feral. Co-workers are honestly a hit or miss. Some are incredibly nice, while others personally crawled from the fiery pits below. The only thing that I enjoyed abt Lovisa was their 50% discount.

High-paced but can be toxic
Part Time Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Chadstone VIC - 28 April 2023
Regional managers are unreliable and are poor at responding. Availability is not respected. Does not pay well. However, team members can be fun to work with at times

Meh
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 17 April 2023
Easy but boring, Lowkey competitive, minimum wage but coworkers and managers can be good depending on the store and get good 50% off full priced items discount

Don’t work here, simple as that :)
Part Time Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Epping VIC - 3 February 2023
Made good friends but that’s it. Overworked and drained to the bone with all the expectations upper management has for you. They care more about the competitions than the welfare and health of the workers, you’re seen as useless if you can’t keep up with their demands. And no matter how well the store performs they still find a way to judge and criticise the performance of all the workers because there wasn’t enough piercings or Add ons sold despite being overworked to the bone. Would not recommend working here to anyone, even those desperate for work. The discount was good until you realise even the ‘good’ jewellery is bad quality. Upper management only care about the KPIs and not the workers. Then they make announcements about caring about the ‘welfare of all the employees’ when in reality it’s completely false given the treatment you get from Upper Management.

Worst place ever
Part Time Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Bankstown NSW - 13 January 2023
Been in the company for about 2 years now, regional managers are the most rudest people ever. Co workers are the best just the management are inconsiderate of personal stuff and talk about staff members 100 would not recommend working here as it is mentally draining. You have to reach unrealistic budgets. You don’t get trained at all (I had to learn everything by myself) No fair treatment.

Horrible
Casual Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Highpoint Shopping Centre VIC - 12 January 2023
Most toxic work place, takes a massive toll on your mental health. Underpays. Regional managers will talk poorly about you behind your back. They are condescending and bullies. Rethink your decision on working for this horrible company.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Regional managers

Not a nice place
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Coolangatta QLD - 29 November 2022
Very low salary, too high expectations. Also headache because of light and shining bijou. They have very high staff turnover. Their managers are teenagers. And it looks very strang
Pros
Beautiful jewelry

A lot of pressure, but good if you like intense customer service
Sales Assistant/ Assistant Manager (Part Time (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 4 August 2022
This is a good place to working if you love retail, and talking to customers, however there was a lot of sales pressures and expectation. We were often understaffed so the expectation to get things done was insane. Although it was good retail experience. They also only hire you on a part-time contact so the pay is quite low there is no casual loading.
Pros
50% discount
Cons
High upselling pressure

stressful and awful management
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Queensland - 29 July 2022
while the job itself can be fun and the team members are nice, everything else is awful. they barely train you before throwing you in the deep end - i had to close/open for my FIRST FEW SHIFTS and it was so stressful and time consuming. you only get 15 minutes to close and have so many things to do and its always only ONE person closing which takes forever. and you dont get paid for overtime either. most of the regional and national managers are absolutely HORRID, they blame you for not getting enough piercings in a day and tell you to FORCE people to get piercings. they also threaten to cut your hours if you don't learn how to pierce ears and noses no matter how uncomfortable the employees are with doing them. on top of that, they give you an insane last minute number of shifts and change your shift times without even telling you sometimes. you can barely have days off EVEN IF YOURE LITERALLY SICK AND DYING. in addition, they also make you work shifts at other stores and get angry when you refuse to do them. the management is the main problem at lovisa, if they would learn some basic ethics then the workplace would improve greatly.
Pros
50% Employee Discount, kind coworkers
Cons
Mistreatment, awful upper management, disregard for employee health and wellbeing

Pros

Cons
