I worked there for around 8 months, in that time we went through 4 different regional managers with no store manager until my last couple months there. The girls I worked with were amazing, even the store manager that got hired was amazing. The managing techniques used however, were purely fear based “If you don’t complete these 10 different jobs in your one 3 hour shift, we’ll need to have a discussion” and if you didn’t meet their expectations they would silently cut down your hours, how many hours you get a week are “performance based” and sometimes depending on if your regional likes you or not.

worst job I ever worked for. The management team sucked and the managers treat their staff with so much disrespect. But the managers are never wrong so it’s always the “team members fault”. I was so miserable working for this company and the work they expect you to do during sale time is 30x the amount one person can handle. Also to mention Christmas time we all had to work on Christmas Eve till past 10:30pm setting up Boxing Day sales with no penalty rates

Not good enough

I have been working for Lovisa for quite some time and I love it. However, it is very stressful as there is a lot of pressure from upper management. The pay is also not very good as you get paid according to your age .

productive and fun place to work with amazing team members

working at lovisa has been an overall positive experience for myself personally. the team members are all very welcoming and work well together. though there are many pros, there are cons aswell that you should make yourself aware of, i.e. working by yourself late nights and weekends in peak hours.

Horrible management and pay

Loved my team but the higher-ups (regional managers etc.) were horrible and had very unrealistic expectations. Poor pay with minimal hours. Not worth it.

The worst job ive ever had

Leaving this job was the highlight of the whole experience for me!! Imagine coming to work and doing your best always meeting goals and providing amazing customer service and still feeling like you could get fired at any moment for no reason. Its like the whole company culture is designed to be as toxic as possible so that everyone is always on edge and under pressure. They make you do piercings after doing a quick training module and piercing only one model. A lot of people dont feel comfortable or confident doing piercings because of this but if you tell management theyll threaten your job. Nose piercings arent safe because its with a gun (they call it a 'device' but no its a gun) which is widely known but the company doesnt care. When you start working at lovisa they expect every moment of your life to be dedicated to them, you have to always be available when they want and if you arent there will be h*ll to pay. Oh btw they call you part time so they can pay you less but you get treated like casual staff. Expected to do hours with no notice or ridiculous double shifts e.g essentially 9am to 9pm. Unless you are literally starving and on the streets DO NOT WORK HERE!!!! Its not worth it for the 50% discount for garbage jewellery

Worked with great people but lots of pressure

All of the team members I worked with were lovely. However, Lovisa is very KPI focused and regional managers would put pressure on you if your store was not meeting its goals.

Horrible management and toxic culture

It started out great. The tasks are easy, like planograms and just putting out stock, but they overwhelm you with them so it's impossible to get anything done - then management will get angry at you because of it. All managers I interacted with were highly manipulative, switching so frequently between being friendly and being rude and critical that I started to question my own sanity. There are several 'blockout' periods during a good chunk of the year in which staff are required to work and are not allowed to take leave or even be unavailable - at the risk of termination. If you get sick, good luck! They don't let you take a sick day unless you can find a cover, which is impossible because most of the staff are school-aged kids. You are NOT allowed to close the doors while customers are in-store (even after it hits closing time), and you aren't allowed to tell customers to leave after closing time. You are expected to stay at the customer's discretion regardless of what plans you had after work. It genuinely feels like you aren't allowed to disconnect - managers constantly chasing you up even on your days off. The best part is there is no distinction between good and bad staff! If you do well, you'll still get reprimanded and punished just as much as someone who doesn't do their job; they expect perfection to an impossible degree.

Wouldn’t recommend working here

So underpaid for the amount of work they expect you to do. $15 an hour for an 18 year old. Roster you on shifts without warning, ignore your availability and time off. The higher up management expect so much from you including to harass customers about sales and add ons. Higher up’s are extremely rude and only care about the money. Dress code is super strict and stupid. They expect so much work to be done by you without any benefit, absolutely wouldn’t recommend working here.

All regionals only last for 2 months no longer talking bad about everyone then quit because it was too much pressure from The higher-ups aka the CEOss

unprofessional and poor management

lovisa has been the worst company to work for and is so poorly managed. staff are extremely undertrained but will still get introuble for doing the wrong thing. higher management talks to team members in such a demeaning manner and crosses the line in many ways. get last minute shift changes half way through every week and are expected to work them. was basically interrogated after calling in sick, being asked extremely personal questions like what medication i was on and where and why i wasnt at home.

Not the best management

I wouldn't recommend working in Lovisa, the pay is low and not enough hours. My store manager didn't treat me well and had unrealistic expectations.

Unprofessional Company

Inadequate company to work for with poor management system. The time I was there we went through 4 store managers due to everyone being fed up and quitting. The work environment was toxic, fake, and superficial.

fun work place and bad management

The work environment is great at Lovisa. However, Behind the scenes Management have poor communication skills, no access to payslip, team members work 3 hours a week and work casual hours yet are "part time.", Team members aren't allowed to take leave if one other team member is on leave, team members aren't payed over time when closing etc.

Exciting Retail Job

Lovisa is a leading brand in jewellery and as such, it is a very fast-paced environment. For the most part it is a fantastic company to work for, but the current upper management is out of touch with being in a store and only care about meeting targets. Extra work at home is required on managers parts and constant contact for even a team member working 3 hours a week is expected.
