Work can be challenging at times (as any job is) but with that its also super rewarding! I think like any work you do you have to always put your best foot forward and go above and beyond to be successful. I enjoy going to work and i have a great team that supports me.

Worst place ever
Part Time Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - Bankstown NSW - 13 January 2023
Been in the company for about 2 years now, regional managers are the most rudest people ever. Co workers are the best just the management are inconsiderate of personal stuff and talk about staff members 100 would not recommend working here as it is mentally draining. You have to reach unrealistic budgets. You don’t get trained at all (I had to learn everything by myself) No fair treatment.

Horrible
Casual Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Highpoint Shopping Centre VIC - 12 January 2023
Most toxic work place, takes a massive toll on your mental health. Underpays. Regional managers will talk poorly about you behind your back. They are condescending and bullies. Rethink your decision on working for this horrible company.
Pros
Nothing

Poor management
Store Manager (Current Employee) - Sydney NSW - 11 December 2022
Management has a strict business mentality, always thinking about making sales. If you were to call in sick and they’re not able to find a cover, you need to go in and work. They care the bare minimum about staffs health and soley about making sales + meeting KPIS. Its too repetitive aswell so it often gets boring. No matter how hard you try, there will always be an excuse made up as to why you didn’t do well enough. The care they have towards your mental health is 0 to none. Also, they are willing to hire AND promote people who have bullying history, aka regionals and state managers.
Pros
Team: The team are absolutely awesome, i had one of the best teams. Amazing people.
Cons
Poor management

Very Stressful and draining environment
Crew Member - Part Time (Former Employee) - Orange NSW - 8 December 2022
To be honest, I was excited to begin working here. I learned pretty quickly what kind of environment it is though as well as the unrealistic standards and expectations they have for everyone. The management was abysmal and they didn't know how to treat people. I always felt treated like some kind of robot rather than a human with weaknesses and feelings... Pretty much every day I would finish my shift around 6pm, come home stressed, overwhelmed, crying that I wanted to quit and then do it all again the next day. Not to mention the exhausting lists of things you have to do every single day, including cleaning the store twice. You also have to constantly send them pictures of everything you're doing which tended to slow me down. My team didn't even have a manager when I started which was extremely frustrating. When we did get one she stayed for maybe 2 months then left without notice or anything. The only thing keeping me there for 4 months was the 50% but in the end even that wasn't enough.
Pros
50% discount
Cons
Stressful environment, long hours mostly alone, overwhelming amount of tasks, bad management, No HR team

Not recommended
Back office (Former Employee) - Frances SA - 23 November 2022
The company is dealing with issues around payment of salaries & safety rules and regulations are not adhered to on the sales floor. The goal is to open as much as stores which is great , however the number of people to support the growth is not there. Which results into lots of work pressure , laws not being adhered to. The company’s pays are very low in comparison to workload and certain benefits that are standard for other companies are not provided. Management is cashing in on bonuses of opening stores and are not bothered to get everything running with least amount of people and unacceptable working environments on the sales floor.
Pros
Lower level staff / back office is hard working
Cons
Everything else- not recommended to grow, learn, be inspired and work correctly and adhering to laws

Super unfair workplace
Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 16 November 2022
It was very overwhelming, having very high standards with the underwhelming pay rates and very strict work culture was super unhealthy. management felt like that group of girls in high school girls that bully everyone n try to intimidate everyone. management team also need to learn about diversity!
Pros
50% off jewellery
Cons
horrible pay, management never communicates back, expects more than they give.

Need to be resilient
Regional Manager (Former Employee) - Australia - 1 November 2022
Lovisa is a high demanding environment with business needs first. The regional managers work around the clock with no set days off except for Sunday with no time to reset. When changing into sale or full price, the business organises this for after hours and expect all team to work Christmas Eve while every other retailer closes normal time as they would rather think about their business and not the employees that work for them. High turnover in people usually because they are unwilling to sacrifice their home life over a business that doesn’t think about their family. Management inside the business okay due to long tenor and are able to help you work through the challenges or business directives, but they don’t know any better as they’ve only ever worked for this one brand. Lovisa still operates with old school expectations and has failed to move forward with the rest of the industry

Horrible management and pay
Team Member (Current Employee) - Melbourne VIC - 26 October 2022
Loved my team but the higher-ups (regional managers etc.) were horrible and had very unrealistic expectations. Poor pay with minimal hours. Not worth it.
Pros
50% discount
Cons
Poor Pay, Minimal Hours/Shifts

Soul sucking
Stylist (Former Employee) - Queensland - 7 October 2022
Normally this sort of job would be fun, styling customers with jewellery, making sure people leave happy. But the amount of micromanagement from higher up is insane, our regional had called us to ask if our floors were mopped, and when we complete any sort of cleaning we have to constantly send store photos up to regional for approval. The pressure from upper management is nightmarish. Not to mention if you fall out of favour with your manager you get treated significantly worse than your other team members, like dirt. There is also rarely ever praise given for big achievements, it really make you feel underappreciated despite doing the best you can. Please for the sake of your self esteem and mental health, don't work here.
Pros
Cool coworkers, styling customers
Cons
Literally everything else, pay is awful for the amount of work you actually do in store, insane micromanagement, unsafe and unsanitary piercing methods and training

Worst place to work
Store Manager (Former Employee) - Victoria - 26 September 2022
Regional was great however everything else was so poor. The pay is below average especially for a store manager and the work is tedious! No back room in the stores so can’t bring lunch to work or have a quick break. Everything is manually done, you’re given 15 mins to close up shop and do daily, weekly, monthly figures every day and aren’t payed to come in early and open the store. Everything has to go through the regional, can’t even call staff in without asking permission from the regional nor are you aloud to do rosters. Place was depressing and not structured! The amount of work you need to do with little pay is atrocious.
Pros
Regional was cool
Cons
Poor pay, tedious work, staff all young, no flexibility

The worst job ive ever had
Team Member (Current Employee) - Qld - 22 September 2022
Leaving this job was the highlight of the whole experience for me!! Imagine coming to work and doing your best always meeting goals and providing amazing customer service and still feeling like you could get fired at any moment for no reason. Its like the whole company culture is designed to be as toxic as possible so that everyone is always on edge and under pressure. They make you do piercings after doing a quick training module and piercing only one model. A lot of people dont feel comfortable or confident doing piercings because of this but if you tell management theyll threaten your job. Nose piercings arent safe because its with a gun (they call it a 'device' but no its a gun) which is widely known but the company doesnt care. When you start working at lovisa they expect every moment of your life to be dedicated to them, you have to always be available when they want and if you arent there will be h*ll to pay. Oh btw they call you part time so they can pay you less but you get treated like casual staff. Expected to do hours with no notice or ridiculous double shifts e.g essentially 9am to 9pm. Unless you are literally starving and on the streets DO NOT WORK HERE!!!! Its not worth it for the 50% discount for garbage jewellery

People are nice but watch your back
Manager (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 16 September 2022
Just watch your back. Just because people are nice to your face doesn't mean they will be the same behind your back. Competition is intensive, with standards not set for individual stores.

Rude and stressful environment
Retail Sales (Former Employee) - Watergardens VIC - 12 September 2022
management was unprofessional and rude. The conditions were stressful. Only thing I liked about my job was the people I worked with and so when they left, I followed.

Worked with great people but lots of pressure
Casual Team Member (Former Employee) - Morley WA - 23 August 2022
All of the team members I worked with were lovely. However, Lovisa is very KPI focused and regional managers would put pressure on you if your store was not meeting its goals.
Pros
Co-workers
Cons
Too much pressure to meet KPI's

Stressful and demanding
Style Assistant (Former Employee) - Queensland - 10 August 2022
Working here was definitely a character building moment. The upper management was quite toxic with all the work expectations. It was almost impossible to find a cover, which you were responsible for even if you were really ill. They required a doctors note for even just one day off if you were sick, which is virtually impossible to get a doctors note on the day you are sick. They have these add ons which they call AO’s for short, the amount of pressure to even sell just one of these was immense. You were judged and spoken down too by management if you didn’t sell any. These add ons apparently measured “customer engagement” in store like I was told many times. You were also hired as a part time employee instead of a casual so you weren’t eligible for casual loading rates. As a part time employee you were contracted a minimum of 6 hours a fortnight, which is good for high school students, except the ones who were in higher grades about to leave school. The workload was pretty easy but stocktakes were very draining and be expected to work back to get tasks completed or for “set ups” of new stuff and “pack downs” of old stuff. You did get the correct rates for those setups and packdowns which made having to work past 6pm and early starts at like 7am tolerable. Also you are forbidden to half-close the doors even 10 minutes before closing time otherwise management will tell you off. They tolerate it if you’re working alone and need to close for a bathroom break. Also make sure you know the contract for the block out periods because in my time there, they tried starting it earlier -
Pros
50% off discount
Cons
Management and expectations

Horrible management and toxic culture
Team Member (Former Employee) - Queensland - 6 August 2022
It started out great. The tasks are easy, like planograms and just putting out stock, but they overwhelm you with them so it's impossible to get anything done - then management will get angry at you because of it. All managers I interacted with were highly manipulative, switching so frequently between being friendly and being rude and critical that I started to question my own sanity. There are several 'blockout' periods during a good chunk of the year in which staff are required to work and are not allowed to take leave or even be unavailable - at the risk of termination. If you get sick, good luck! They don't let you take a sick day unless you can find a cover, which is impossible because most of the staff are school-aged kids. You are NOT allowed to close the doors while customers are in-store (even after it hits closing time), and you aren't allowed to tell customers to leave after closing time. You are expected to stay at the customer's discretion regardless of what plans you had after work. It genuinely feels like you aren't allowed to disconnect - managers constantly chasing you up even on your days off. The best part is there is no distinction between good and bad staff! If you do well, you'll still get reprimanded and punished just as much as someone who doesn't do their job; they expect perfection to an impossible degree.

A lot of pressure, but good if you like intense customer service
Sales Assistant/ Assistant Manager (Part Time (Former Employee) - Brisbane QLD - 4 August 2022
This is a good place to working if you love retail, and talking to customers, however there was a lot of sales pressures and expectation. We were often understaffed so the expectation to get things done was insane. Although it was good retail experience. They also only hire you on a part-time contact so the pay is quite low there is no casual loading.
Pros
50% discount
Cons
High upselling pressure

Nice Team and room for promotion if wanted
Store Manager (Current Employee) - Adelaide Region SA - 1 August 2022
Nice Team and very welcoming, the work is difficult if you are not a people or someone who enjoys making "5-minute-friends". The job does throw you in the deep end but I am a fast learner so this was never an issue for me. Overall a good spot to work if you enjoy talking to people but the work is very self-taught in many ways (approaching people, how to sell items etc.)
Pros
50% off, lots of hours if wanted
Cons
can be stressful, hard if you don’t like speaking to people
