No, its easier to train baristas. Baristas focus on milk, coffee grind, temperature, froth, etc.

Crew members are expected to know location of items on the register, how to greet, how to handle customers, making soft drinks, desserts, fries, everything.

Yes, the only difference being, that a barista now knows how to work in the café part of the restaurant.

I'd say not, to be trained as a Mcdonalds barista you need to be a hard worker and quick learner, in my opinion not everyone is trained at a barista, however everyone is trained as a general crew member.
