Genuine care for residents and staff
Human Resources Business Partner (Current Employee) - Queensland - 21 June 2023
Excellent capability in delivering high quality care across all areas for residents. Genuinely care for their staff. Fantastic place work. Hopefully stays this way now that Bolton Clarke (and Allity) are taking us over. Already so many highly skilled, capable and experienced people being treated horribly and leaving. Appalling hr processes by BC people and culture staff - jobs for their mates and no transparent processes.

Staff (Former Employee) - Buderim QLD - 6 May 2023
Management do not follow up on issues not all sites are treated equal and some site do what they want and don’t care what they serve to their residents. The catering Manager for all sites doesn’t follow on anything and never get back with a response. No support at all.

Fast paced , thinking on the run , staff were all helpful and hardworking
Maintenance Officer (Former Employee) - Rosebud VIC - 18 March 2023
This position was to fill in while the officer went on vacation. So It was a 4 week contract originally but then I found out that the position was available full time going forward. The current officer would be finishing up , not to be‼️ I then applied for it and thought I would be eligible but only to find out that the current Officer had now changed his mind and would be returning back to work there. After this happened I was a bit confused about the turnaround but accepted it.
Pros
Cheap lunches, good work environment, Close to home not much travelling
Cons
Thrown in the deep end and had to up skill fast on the run

Toxic work place
PCA (Former Employee) - Templestowe VIC - 1 January 2023
Negative workplace with unreasonable and unrealistic goals. Constantly working short staffed. Management blame staff when problems appear and are not supportive at all.

Best staff need a change of management
Aged Care Worker (Former Employee) - Lynbrook VIC - 13 December 2022
Management is all about profit and not people friendly. Salary is quiet low, pay rise is minimal. We got too many bosses who like to tell us what to do. Toxic boss who like to pick at you… constant emails sent instructing staff to do their jobs. No trust and understanding, surrounded by cameras and threatening people they have been watched all the time.
Pros
Friendly staff
Cons
Not appreciated

Poorly managed, staff not treated well
Maintenance Officer (Former Employee) - Newmans Vic - 5 August 2022
I worked there for 18 months. The staff and residents were great and made you feel part of a family. On the other hand, management at the facility were appalling. They had no idea and treated staff horribly. They were only nice when they wanted you to work extra shifts. The way they would berate staff in public was atrocious. They had their little clicks who were looked after and the rest of the staff had to pick up the slack. I know covid was tough, but to see head office send gifts to management and pat them constantly on the back white staff got nothing for working double shifts for weeks on end was enough for me.

Antiquated IT
Registered Nurse / Quality and Compliance Lead (Former Employee) - 5 facilities, sunshine coast - 13 March 2022
The most nasty culture where I was talked about rather than to. I felt I was planted to take up a position at Buderim Views as a manager and worked in Quality to be ready. The nasty way that they sacked the incumbent manager was distasteful and the last thing I felt like doing on the day was putting my hand up to replace her. The incredible change over of senior staff tells it all. I could not trust anyone. Everyone whispered to everyone. no-one really embraced change or calling out the need for it. if you didnt just work on, keep your head down and 'say how wonderful everything was then you were history. I still drive past the homes thinking those poor residents.

Always short-staffed. Management turnover has been high. Putting out fires is the norm
Carer Support Worker (Former Employee) - Beerwah QLD - 27 January 2022
Due to staff shortages, there is often only one AIN to an entire wing. The culture is toxic, and you are constantly asked to work double shifts or work on days that are your allocated days off. There is simply no time to give proper care - the basics are done but actually taking time to spend time with residents is impossible, particularly if you are on your own
Pros
Some amazing RNs, ENs and AINs. Truly compassionate and caring
Cons
Being treated as expendable. If you care, you'll be phoned everyday to work. If you don't care, you'll keep your job anyway. Always no-shows for shifts. A toxic culture, mostly due to people being under stress and overworked.

Cornerstones are lies
Enrolled Nurse (Former Employee) - Murwillumbah NSW - 19 July 2021
Was good when first started as was very family orientated then everything changed when they took over another company and quite frankly got to big for their boots. You have no chance of advancement and they deskill ENs by allowing them to do nothing thanks to pencil pushers playing with policies and not allowing to work within our scope of practice. Poor management gets rewarded while corporate positions are created at the detriment to those actually do the caring on the frontline. Your a number on a spreadsheet and nothing more. Hard work and caring get you no where. Stay away!!
Pros
Residents
Cons
Everything else

Draining and bullying
Employee (Former Employee) - Buderim QLD - 13 July 2021
Not recommended. Toxic culture, I would never recommend anyone to work there and would not come back. Cold and uncaring managers that use their employees for their own gain.
Pros
nil
Cons
Horrible environment to work in.

You're just another replaceable employee
AIN Nurse (Current Employee) - Gold Coast QLD - 16 April 2021
high staff turn over, you will work short on most days and be expected to pick up the slack whilst training new staff at the same time for no extra pay or incentives. Not only do you get to do your job as an AIN, you also get to do the other departments work as well including cleaning, laundry and handing out and collecting morning tea and supplements and then going back to finish your job as a care staff member.
Pros
kept employed through covid
Cons
too many to mention

Understaffed all the time, awful management
AIN (Assistant in Nursing) (Current Employee) - Murwillumbah NSW - 9 March 2021
Constantly working while understaffed, some times 5-6 short! While understaffed management decided to cut all casual shifts only making it worse. Always have to stay back late to finish paperwork, a large majority of staff were very unfriendly and would talk about you badly to others.
Pros
Amazing and friendly residents, some nice employees
Cons
Over worked and underpaid

Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Qld - 16 October 2020
Not a family business anymore, used to be about people. Its all about money now. Lots of people have left. Good people have left. It's a tough industry but good staff are hard to find, they should learn to look after good staff.

Poor management, good workers
Personal Care Attendant (Former Employee) - Deception Bay QLD - 3 July 2020
Management isn't very hands on and don't listen when you have concerns. The environment can be very overwhelming and a lot of the time can be short staffed and makes it very stressful. They expect you to do everything you should in the time your given and a lot of the time you don't get time.
Pros
The majority of PCA's were lovely and great to work with
Cons
Management not listening to concerns
