Fantastic group training company who provided me with a host employer in Schneider electric
Apprentice Electrical Mechanic (Former Employee) –  Perth WA5 December 2018
a typical day at work involved assisting tradesman/technicians and engineers in maintaining and commissioning UPS systems
ive been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to learn about a field of electrical work that most electricians don't get the opportunity in

the culture was fantastic and all the supervisors were supportive and made sure us as apprentices were always utilised and learning our trade

the hardest part of the job was probably it being a bit slow paced, I personally prefer to be active and being hands on instead of waiting for computerised results during the testing procedures that were in place

the most enjoyable part of the job was the the fact I've had the opportunity to experience a specialised field of electrical work that many electricians don't get the opportunity to do.
I believe my experience in such a specialised field aswell as having experience in domestic, commercial and construction during previous stints as an apprentice holds me in good stead to be a well rounded electrician
Pros
specialised field of electrical work
Cons
lack of experience in general electrical work

Manager (Former Employee) –  Melbourne VIC24 April 2017
MEGT was a major facilitator of Apprenticeships and Traineeships, while operating as a Registered Training Organisation for both domestic and international students.

It had a very committed management team and loyal staff who enjoyed working for the company. The Board was highly supportive.

Its operations extended throughout Australia, Macau and, more recently, the UK.

Great Job with Benefits
Business Relationships Consultant (Former Employee) –  Campbelltown NSW15 December 2016
Hard days, early starts and late finishes, lunch on the run.
Learned different jobs and industries, what it was like to be out on a job site and to make sure you had correct PPE clothing.
Management was good.
Co Workers were great, assisted you if you needed help.
Hard part was not being advised by employer of apprentices to changes of work locations or if apprenticeship was still going ahead.
Enjoyed being out on the road and meeting new people!
Pros
Attending Chamber meetings, TAFE Expo's and Invites to christmas lunches, dinners by employers who you built strong relationships with.
Cons
Early start and late finishes

Poor excuse of management.
Customer Service Officer (Current Employee) –  Sydney5 September 2016
Management show lack of care towards employees. Play favouritism & managers and even higher up managers gossip about other staff and younger generations in ear shot of those they're gossiping about.

Apply as a last resort , they can either make your life miserable or fun and it's often miserable.

The CEO and board really need to review who they put in positions of power. At our office the morale is low, everyone gossips about everyone and management allows for information about others which should be confidential, be a known thing office wide.

Pros are theyre up to date and ensure that staff are trained with all the safety procedures and online training.
Pros
Some nice people. Home time.
Cons
Lack of work. Management.

The most enjoyable part of the job.
Apprentice Fitter (Former Employee) –  Olympic Dam SA11 August 2016
The most enjoyable part of the job is taking ownership of a piece of equipment. Something that would deem out of service and then repairing it within specs, so that it can carry on with it's working life.
Pros
Learning the mechanics on how it works.

Trainer (Former Employee) –  Adelaide13 April 2015
I have loved working for this company. They had a keen interest in development of their team. The work was largely administrative, but you could feel the impact of your effort by helping young people gain apprenticeships. It makes a large difference to their lives and secures them skills which would get them employment for the rest of their lives.
Pros
Involvement in meetings and projects, Feeling of doing something good and worthwhile

very bad with moral, during tough times of contract renewals
Business Relationship Consultant (Former Employee) –  Sydney10 May 2014
MEGT is a very large company, that had a lot of very experienced people, and MEGT didn't do enough to keep them when they were approached by other apprenticeship centres, and they then recruited very in experienced staff for very crucial positions, then closed all communications with internal departments, which made it very difficult to track paper trails due to software changes, and no further training on internal processes, and under staffed departments.

MEGT was not a company that was very innovative, and depended very heavily on government funding for the apprenticeship centre, and therefore, only reacted to changes, instead of being pro active, and making sure of how to continue with the upcoming changes...

the nature of the business meant that change was inevitable, but it seemed that they were always reacting when it became extremely dire, and reacted with mass redundancies. then with only a few months passing the positions that were made redundant, became available due to further change in demand.
Pros
lots of community networking events, and TAFE presentation functions
Cons
lack of communication with field staff, and internal staff
