Productive. Good place to work if you like working as a team
Working with officers are helpful and protective with nursing staff.Staff work every well as a team. Give medications to prisoners with an officer You never go anywhere around the prison without an officer

Not a great place
Worked there for from 1996 to 2018 years management don't look after staff you'll most likely start as casual seniors are bullies some of the unit staff too.Only good thing was the roster and usually plenty of overtime if wanted.Staff will gossip and spread rumours behind your back very toxic environment Also the lowest paid prison service in Australia

Hated the job
Wouldn’t return staff difficult and rude would not help new staff . To many prisoners to staff very difficult environment when newly qualified . Hours casual sometimes they’d ring up when you were there last to try. To far to travel for the pay which was not enough . Long hours management unhelpful .

Just another day
No day is the same. You get to work with different people everyday and always learning from other colleagues. I have learnt how to deal with prisoners who are withdrawing from drugs on arrival. Part of our duty is to ensure that everyone is safe and us as staff members go home at the end of the day safely. I enjoy going to work and meeting up with my colleagues to chit chat with.
